i am gonna do something i hate doing. i am gonna quote a former teammate and position mate of pattersons. after spring practice i was with a few players. got to talk alittle while with a guy who is a current wr at tenn. good kid. he was talking about the new staff and the new attitude that the team has. he said the atmosphere is completely different. i ask him about dooley and he said and i quote" coach had no chance. we had players who wouldnt do the work and were horrible teammates." i laughed and said who. " cpatt cost us. he was talented but he wouldnt come to meetings, would run the wrong routes, and dude was just, to be nice, dumb." coaches told him a hundred times if he would pay attention in meetings and try he would be one of the best wr to come through here. i was leaving and said i hope my steelers dont draft him. he said i hope they do. i like the ravens.lol my point is this is one of twenty stories i have heard about him and none of them ave been positive

Steel, what are you and BFT going to do if we take Patterson in the first and Tyler Bray in the third? :lolol:

I actually like Allen more than I like Patterson and would rather see us take him than any receiver in the first.

i just read allen is having knee trouble.

woods is the most ready guy at the top. woods, williams, dobson, harper, boyce. any of those 5 and i'd be happy.

Well then I will pass on him. Someone told me the other day they think Patterson is gonna be the man. They said he's not stupid and he can catch. But do you really think we would actually take a wr in the 1st round? I'd be really surprised if that happened honestly.

Hunter is a good kid. He does drop some easy ones. He had issues when he was around rodgers. But then again the whole team had issues around darick. If he is there in the second, i have no problem. He will be better than patterson.

i'd rather da'rick rodgers of all tn wr
wanted him with the PATS PICK but that won't happen now
i'd still take him in the 3rd big wr for big ben with plax might being done after next yr
    say he's a julio type

i like to see production over a period of time, as do the steelers. this year TD's will be at a premium. they will have to show they have scored alot over a couple of years time, and have started for 3-4 years. those will be the guys we need this year and next.

do you realize we are returning 13 TD's from last years 8-8 team. that's 4 receivers and 4 rb's counting will j.and all the TE's except heath. that's all 11 skill players.

Ugh no. It takes way more than pure physical ability to be successful in the NFL. We've seen time and time again how highly talented players come out of college and fade away quickly, regardless of talent, because they don't have the head to be NFL players. Many of them get into trouble, others fail because they can't handle the mental aspect of the game. I was already not sure about Rodgers because if his well-documented off-the-field issues, but after watching him on Game Changers on NFL Network, I was turned completely off. For a guy who needed to project a good image, he instead came off as arrogant, thuggish and completely unprepared for the next level. I think he would be a wasted pick anywhere before the 5th round. At that point, I think the potential reward catches up to the high risk.

so you want a wr who is on record throwing a game to keep from going back to the same bowl game they went to the year before. a player who while at tenn had multiple team violations and missed practices because he had better things to do. no thanks

so your ok with wasting picks on players with issues now? money dont fix things it just makes things worse. history shows us that a few players can turn it around but most dont. trust me this kid is not a player you want. just curious do you have any info on this kid other than his scouting report and highlight reel?

if you are wanting a player from the volunteers
you have NO CHOICE but to take one with major off field issues, thuggery, and criminal tendencies

you going to the orange n white game saturday?

I hope the Steelers pass on Rogers and Keenan Allen both of these guys are slow 4.7 to 4.8 type of guys.

Allen's not a burner, but he's a polished route runner and has great hands. He's also good after the catch. Reminds me a little of Anquan Boldin.

Read somewhere today that Patterson scored an 11 on the Wonderlic. Austin had a 7.

Yeah, ouch. I think you get 5 points for spelling your name correctly. :lolol:

    C.Patterson (11), T.Austin (7), K.Allen (19), R,Woods (23), J.Hunter (12).

Wonderlic results are overblown, though. If these guys were QBs, then there'd be cause for concern. Some notable WRs with low Wonderlics- Hakeem Nicks-12, Percy Harvin -12, AJ Green - 10...
