I'm sure Khan will bring in another receiver before the season starts, no way they repeat their mistake from last year with only having one top receiver. They have 12 draft picks next year I doubt they will stand pat.

The only thing I can trust the steelers right now is they will do everything to continue their streak of the non losing season...Outside of that,I can't trust the steelers

Trading Pickens away for a 3rd round draft pick was flat out dumb. Maybe not as dumb as drafting him in the first place though. He was going to need a lot of mental development and Tomlin isn’t a HC who can do that. Should have dangled that carrot two weeks before the draft and made it well known. This team is spiraling like a long time coming finally unclogged toilet.

They made calls during the draft but the highest offer they received was a 4th.

You can't be serious if you really think they're worried about non losing seasons .

Just look at the 2013 and 2022 season when they were 2-6 and 5-8 at one point....

Personally I see this as a sign of the opposite. I see this as rebooting a more Steelers approach of building inside out and focusing more on character.

If punting on the 2025 season is what gets them back to a team focused unit, I'm good with it.

Last year is exactly why there is no good reason to relax and trust Khan. He did this last season and failed. If anything, it is worse this time. He traded Johnson away before the draft last year. There were more options remaining in free agency, too. If anything, it seems likely he will either fail to do anything or end up overpaying to fill the hole he created by allowing the Cowboys to rob him.

The object is to win football games this organization isn't going to tank, if you want that I suggest you find another team to root for.

They were trying to get Aiyuk though, the Cowboys didn't rob them they got a third and a fifth for a headcase WR in the last year of his contract.

Thank god the steelers did not finish at 8-8 in the 2003 season or Roethlisberger would been in a another team and the steelers would been stuck with Maddox as starter for a few more years....So no 15-1 season in 2004 and super bowl win in 2005,etc....

Or they could've traded up to get Ben in 2004 if they really wanted him .

I'm not going to keep repeating myself of how we failed at obtaining a WR last year.

By the way, obtaining a WR who's below 700 yards, is not obtaining a WR.

Has to be a guy who has broke 1,000 yards and never had a season (unless rookie season) below 700.

No, I don't think they will sit on their hands and go into the season with this receiving core.

Cooper has been out there. And I like him. I would be game if we obtained him.
    1. Still stupid to trade pickens
    2. I wanted cooper, Pickens and meta on this team.

Anyhow if we got cooper, I would feel a little better. And would say that's a WR worth bringing in.

I take all the reports with a grain of salt, read before the draft they were seeking a higher 2...who really knows, but they did not trade him so the interest was minimal. Do we really know what actions and conversations were had with GP behind closed doors? We saw spectacular plays, we also saw him quit on plays, did not block and the frustrating outbursts...some could be explained, he want more action. Bottom line the decision was made based on what the felt was best for their future business interests.

One year on the field, maybe spectacular play and he is a top FA ad out of reach and we get a possible compensation pick in 27. He complains, sits out this year and the constant distractions that go with it. They offer him a contract he accepts, but once paid will his attitude get better?

Did the team get robbed? Not really, will he have a spectacular year, possibly, but we got what we could in a situation that very well could have been a cancer going into the year. Do I like it, no, but totally understand the move.
