Former Mt. Lebanon star quarterback Seth Morgan is heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ rookie minicamp late next week.

Throughout the scouting process, the Steelers were the only team to give Morgan a chance at a rookie minicamp. The local connection helps, but Morgan, in an interview with Ron Lippock of Steelers Takeaways, revealed the depth of the Steelers’ interest in him.

“Building up after the season, I signed with an agent with the expectation of getting a camp invite. Close to the draft I got some interest from the Steelers – they came out to my pro day and I saw them there. I know Casey Weidl – one of the Steelers scouts – he went to the same high school I did. Omar Kahn called me initially actually and said they wanted to bring me in for a tryout. I accepted right away. Then I spoke with Casey later to confirm some things," Morgan said.

Morgan started his collegiate career at VMI. While with the Keydets, he got significant playing time, starting the final four games of his redshirt freshman season and starting his redshirt sophomore season before seeing a dip in production during his third year as the team’s signal-caller.

As a result, Morgan transferred to the PSAC to play at Shepard, replacing Tyson Bagent. He started all 12 games, earning All-American Honorable Mention and All-PSAC East honors.

In his final collegiate season, Morgan racked up 22 touchdowns to just 8 interceptions while amassing 2362 passing yards.

He measured in at 6-foot-2, 214 pounds at his pro day, running a 4.85 40-yard dash. Morgan has 9 4/8-inch hands to add to his physical measurements.

If Rodgers doesn't sign then he will be the 4th camp arm.

I’m really getting tired of this Rogers guy. FO should give him a time line something like now.

There are a lot of reasons to be tired of Rodgers, but with this in particular it's the sense I have that he would've committed to the Vikings by now if they'd reciprocated his interest. I won't be particularly upset if he signs or not, but I hope the FO has the sense to draw a line at some point as the summer camps approach.

Let it ride with AR15. He signs or not. Can't set a deadline. Not too critical at this time.

Tomlin needs to quit texting "you up"

Well, if he starts wrecking opposing players, coming up with a nickname will be some low hanging fruit

Im of two thoughts. The fan in me wants to win a SB and IMO Rodgers gives them that best shot however slim it is.

The other thought is forget Rodgers because I think Howard could be good and want to see him play and possibly have their QB for years to come.

I don't like Rodgers, but have come to terms with it should they sign him, and he does give them the best chance to win. But I wouldn't have a problem getting behind Rudolph and Howard instead; they may be less talented, but I actually like those guys. And, however slim it may be, there's a chance Howard develops into more than a backup.

I just want management to know when it's time to make the decision themselves. I'm not saying that's tomorrow, or next week. But I don't think you're doing right by the rest of the team if you're heading into mandatory mini camp still waiting on an answer from the 2025 version of Rodgers.
