I agree with blount here, especially the last part. When Sanders is gone after tonight, it'll all be on the right track.

Yes. But tha does not mean I will agree with eery personnel decision that they make. I am in the camp that thinks we cannot afford to let Sanders walk this year. I just don't know how the heck we are going to move the ball with only one playmaker on offense (And AB will be doubled pretty much every play since there are no other threats at WR)

The Rats do a good job overall, but it will be challenging for them now with Flacco's contract. The Pats have been riding Brady's coattails. They have actually made some pretty bad draft picks and other offseason decisions, but Brady bails them out.

Coaches have to say that about injuries, that's coach speak but any fan that buys into it is fooling themselves, there is a reason starters are starters and backups are backups.

Your point about having a plan is an excellent one. You know what your team is when you don't have a plan? The Jets. They change directions like a fart in the wind. But when you have a model like the Steelers do and stick to it, you end up with the most Lombardis. There is nothing lazy about what the Steelers do, that's an insult to the Rooneys.

they have to change their mindset about bringing players along. there is no other team i know of that brought backups along to be starters then the steelers do.

most backups here became starters, thats why they drafted them. now when they get good enough and the starter leaves, it's time for us to sign them and we can't. they have to draft for starters now and get them on the field, the days of bringing them along to become starters later is over. it's going to bite us and already has.

there's a transition going on in the front office and i'm not sure it's like what we are used to in the past. so just asking about faith in the FO is kind of premature as it sits now. they have their hands full.

    omar looking for work elsewhere.
    haslim moving to the browns.
    omar's replacement being hired.
the cap restraint on the team.
    the draft.
    the coaching changes.
    losing players.
    players aging quickly.
a new head of the team.
    the buyout and restructure.
    new owners to deal with.

they have alot going on right now and we will see if it's handled like it used to be.

I agree with mac. A lot of changes are happening in a short amount of time.

I don't know if Suleiman is Omar's replacement, or not. A guy who's been that good at keeping the numbers crunched is going to be in demand.
Maybe they need more minds (at least 2 guys) working on the cap issues at the same time. Maybe they are working on a new plan-how to keep our talent stream going strong on 4-year rookie contracts.
The new CBA forces the Steelers into a much steeper learning curve. We may have to get used to newbies taking their lumps on the field; and maybe losing us a game here or there for the sake of long-term gain.

Sanders did absolutely nothing while he was here. He's easily replaceable.

More resources aimed at scouting other teams talent would do wonders for this team.
This way when you have cap problems like the Steelers NORMALLY do, you atleast have ideas
on players that could fill roles being vacated.(OZZIE) I don't think the Steelers do a good job at this,
LAZY, maybe isn't the best word, cheap might be better when paying scouts/talent evaluaters.
We need to find and old blood hound that can bird dog for talent, its out there you just have to find it.
And they really need to find it this draft. The Steelers are being out worked in this area.

I have faith in the FO but personally I think they are too conservative in some of their philosophies.

Yes, I definitely have faith in them. Everyone makes bad calls sometimes, but the FO has done an amazing job overall. There are other teams with FOs that continually make the bad calls, while the good calls are the exceptions, so I'm glad to have an FO that is in the opposite camp.
