Ok. Not really. But this guy is actually got some really interesting stats.

Josh Johnson. He is 38 years old, 6 ft 3 and 214 lb. Currently rostered with the Washington Redskins (I still refuse to call them the commanders).

He is estimated to have approximately six years of time on practice squad and that is the most by far for any other NFL player ever. He has been on 14 different team rosters which is the most of any player in NFL history. He has played on the active roster with 8 different teams. He has time as a quarterback, receiver, he has rushing yards, and he's played on defense. This guy is apparently a jack of all trades.

You have to admire someone like this. He has been around so long he was a teammate of Jeff Garcia as a rookie. Without knowing much about him, I would say he is a good guy, because he has been with several teams multiple times, and they never want a pain in the ass back.

In about twenty years there will be some saying that MR was never given a fair shot as Old man Tomlin has a press conference announcing him as back up again.

I think wills potential is going to be a little better than mason. But i don't see him turning into a top ten QB overall.

Also I'm fine going this season with mason.

He's made a bit of scratch in that time I bet, so He made a living doing what he wanted, and wasn't even, apparently, that good.

Most of them end up selling insurance. He played back yard football and had lots of fun. On a side note. When I was 16 years old my dad co signed for my 1979 CJ5 Jeep, Roy Gerela was my Insurance agent. Walked in his office and was mesmerized by all the Steelers pictures. Couldn’t care less what he was going to charge me and my dad. My uncle was a neighbor of Lynn Swann and I think that is how the connection was made.

I was curious about that and it's actually what led me to finding his information. I was trying to find out how much a player makes on the practice squad. They get a set salary that if I did my math correctly works out to about 350,000 a year if they're on the practice squad for the entire year. They get something like 17,500 to 22,500 per week depending on how long they've been in the NFL.

Members of the practice squad on the winning super bowl team are also eligible for a super bowl ring.

I am surprised @TerribleTowelFlying@TerribleTowelFlying doesn't sell a message board ring for various posters.

If you don't blow the money, a person could make a great living that way.

PS money is actually not bad compared to average American income, but the caveat is you never really qualify for any true union benefits. To make even a dent in the pension plan you need to be on an actual roster for 6 games a year in 3 seasons ( not necessarily successive). The amount of money to basically have 2 residences, one in a place that you can get transferred out for any reason, at any time with no guarantees that it lasts more than a week would make me hang up the cleats after a couple of seasons. Kudos for a chasing the dream and doing it for the love of the game. Whatever his future, with that kind of perseverance and possible relationships built he could probably step into a coaching role at some level if he has that desire.

Josh Johnson is in a straight talk wireless commercial where he's switched NFL uniforms 14 times but he'll never switch from Straight Talk
