As I recall (and I may be very wrong), the Steelers did make an offer, the Jets made a bigger one. I remember some reporters (local and national) saying he should take the Steelers offer as the Jets was no man's land, lol. Neil had hit his ceiling no doubt, but in 94 and 5, with totally different O approaches we went to the championship game and one SB. Some may argue, but between TB and Ben was the most successful QB we had, hard to read into the past, but I think the Steelers would have had similar if not better results had he stayed for another contract, but would the fans ever had forgotten those ints in the SB? Not likely as we never have to this point, lol.

No doubt there is something about him that is very intriguing. Different podcasts have him the next franchise QB to nothing more than a career back up, he is a 6th round pick for cryin out loud, perhaps he becomes a steal of the century, or he fails miserably, either way he is not a bust, just enjoy the ride and see where it goes.

Nope. The vet minimum is around $1.2 million. Rudolph is on a 2 year contract worth $7.5 million with a $1.5 million base salary.

The mere fact Howard was told no by Tom Arth much like how Najee Harris was told no by Eddie Faulkenr is very telling in a positive way. Howard definitely wants that starting role. Still am unsure if he can take it but he does have the right mindset no doubt.

Just gotta see how he does in OTAs and in Training Camp for a better evaluation.

I know. Even know he looks good to me, every team past on him until the 6th. So, it’s a long shot I just dont really see why on the film.

The best reason I heard that wasnt completely vague was the QB School guy and he said for a team that had players better at every position than the defenses they faced, they had too much trouble consistently pushing the ball down the field.

    In your statement

“That would still make Him the highest paid Qb on the roster, except maybe our rookie Qb.....so....what I said is true”

    Steel Elvis explained nicely above

You are correct....I read it as 75 thousand dollars the 1st time.
Ok .....to prove my point....I will bet anyone if Rodgers signs the Vet Minimum, he won't start the whole year.
Anyway, I don't know why this was even brought up, you, Me, and the cat down the street knows he's not signing for the vet minimum.

Unrelated I know but the NFL Schedule is slated to arrive on May 10th!

Hopefully the Steelers don't get screwed like they did in 2024.

Not really sure why they treat the reveal with such pomp and circumstance. Teams actually get it ahead of that (how far ahead I don't know) but they're not supposed to leak it. I remember a gag video from a couple of years ago where Cam was entrusted with the Steelers' copy so it didn't get out ahead of time.

    Edit: found it

if he had not thrown those picks in the SB and we had somehow squeezed out the win he would be no 3 behind TB and Ben easily, even if he had bolted to the jets.

Seems Howard seems a little too buff, kind of reminds me of Tebow. Qb’s should not be too buff as it can affect the throwing motion,

    maybe im wrong about this

In the SB era I can't think of anyone really that close to being 3 behind Ben and TB, we got to the PO's several others, but Neil provided pretty good stability when he was the starter.
