My son was a chef at a Michelin starred restaurant for a while. They had a couple of dishes that used quail eggs. You'd need a bunch of them to make an omelette!

Ducks typically lay more eggs than chickens. Commercial chickens lay about 250 eggs a year, but commercial ducks can lay 300-350 eggs per year.

I've heard that. How do they compare in size to chicken eggs?

Speaking of ducks. I live by a lake and have actually seen a lot of baby ducks break the egg. Funny to watch them all try to climb on moms back. I probably have seen over a hundred born and maybe 4-5 survived. Watched hawks swoop down and snatch them, we have lake otters (so cool) and big ass turtles who snatch them up from below. Good times for the ducks;)

Still trying to forget when I hit a hard nasty shank and it caught a baby right in the throat. Eyes popped out of head. Only good thing a super quick death. About a year later I hit a bird in flight. Stopped what would have been a great shot. Feeling guilty, I sat with it. Took about 10 minutes but got it self together and flew off.

    WOW the odds!!! Poor baby.
When I hit a bad shank it's bouncing off the carts and the group I'm with is "ducking" LOL

I hope the golf dogs let you finish the hole out with a good score for showing empathy for the duck, bird and playing by the rules.

We have a pretty good size pond in Pa and some of our baby ducks get taken out by the bass, pike or muskie too.
Pretty wild to see it. Cycle of life. I don't mind it as much when they're the wild ducks that visit but yeah, I get get a little sad when it's minds.

The above eggs you guys are talking about, do you make them the same as chicken eggs????? And are they same colors. I would think bird embryos are all alike. How about taste?? Taste like chicken;)

Thanks! Quail eggs are a bit ugly. Just saw picture.

    Oh ok, not bad.
I always have. Our neighbors had ducks and didn't like the eggs, so we got them for free for a long time. It was hard going back to chicken eggs at the store honestly.
