I dont get it myself but not even the Steelers think all that highly of his skillset since they waited until the 6th.

For comparison, Bens hands are 9 7/8

    So Howards are fine.

There's pretty little shot he doesn't make the 53. Skylar Thompson is bad and even if we sign Rodgers (no guarantee), he'd still have to be atrocious for us to not keep him around. Having him on the 53 and inactive allows us to try to develop him. I realize we drafted and cut Oladokun not that long ago, but this feels a bit different. Our QB room is not crowded at all, and there's still a reasonably good shot we go into the year with Rudolph/Howard/Thompson at QB.

If Rodgers signs and no one gets hurt, I can't see Thompson making the team. They would have Rodgers starting, Rudolph as the backup, and Howard third string. The only way Thompson stays employed with the Steelers in that scenario is on the practice squad.

I actually like this pick. Hopefully Tom Arth can work some magic with him

I knew someone would say him, but was he really good outside of one year, here, or anywhere, and so would you call that devolved, or a lucky year???

Yes with pretty much the same team, but that was a different era of college football, they pick you to play a college championship, and you only play one game, it's not even close to the same anymore. You must actually win in a playoff format now. No more one lucky win , and You're a champ. I'm not saying He will be good....I'm just saying it's way different.

Same as I said to the others.....I can name a bunch of Qb that have won at times with us, but did that make then developed??? If so then we have developed a lot of Qb in Tomlins time also. If not, then we haven't devolved anyone since the 70s, except Ben

Big difference to have a winning record after only 5-10 start vs to have a winning record with 60 or 75 starts in the case for Kordell. They were not franchise QB but in the case of O'Donnell,he had 4 good season with us,similar to Joe Flacco in Baltimore, the only difference,O'Donnell had a awful super bowl but the rest is about the same

The definition of a franchise QB is never clear.

So Philip Rivers was a franchise QB.... but Neil O'Donnell wasn't? O'Donnell made it to 2 AFC Championships and a Super Bowl. I think Rivers made it to one AFC Championship.

Is Brock Purdy a franchise QB? Dak Prescott? Prescott is considered Big D's franchise QB and he hasn't done squat in the playoffs compared to Purdy.

I never said O'Donnell or Flacco or Kordell was a franchise QB,since they were not....But this is also true they had their moment and that the Steelers were able to develop O'Donnell as best they could....Same thing for the Ravens with Flacco

Just want to know what is not the like about a national title winning QB .. Film I have seen on him is pretty amazing. He has alot of good football sense.. 6'4 237 lbs. Dude is a dual threat monster.

A second or third contract by the drafting team would make you a franchise QB.

Maybe not but they will have some stability for the next few years, they have the draft picks next year to get their franchise QB.
