Pirates sent Suwinski down to Indy and are bringing Gorski up. He strikes out too much but should be more productive than Suwinski.

Nice start though, a 434 ft homer in first MLB plate appearance joining a rarefied group before him. After a pretty decent Spring ball, that was sweet for him. :thumbs up:

I know we suck balls but win or lose today, most likely lose, we will go .500 on the left coast trip. Up to Falter to pitch a gem.

What a strange mess of a team. The most dominant pitcher in baseball, Skenes. A physically gifted guy who knocks the crap out of the ball but does not seem to have a defensive position, Cruz. A retread pitcher of the kind they seem to sign every year, to flip at the trade deadline, Heaney. (OK, he is pitching well and that one might work. Chandler or Harrington might take his place in the rotation). Another veteran guy, an outfielder who seems to be traded at the deadline every year, Pham.
If they can trade Heaney for a bat, move Pham in any way they can, and bring up a young AAA pitcher to take Heaney’s place, they might move from terrible suckitude to mediocre.
It would seem to be a waste of his arm and speed, but moving Cruz a notch to the left on the defensive spectrum has not helped, so I think he should be tried at DH. It is the one place he can’t hurt you with fielding mistakes. I know that DH is the port of refuge for players who can hit but can’t field any more due to age, but you gotta get creative at times.

At times I don't think Cruz knows he is on a baseball field.

He might benefit from a prescription drug to help him concentrate. Not joking, for once. Maybe that has been tried already.

Hold on to your hats boys and girls, your battling Bucs come home to battle the Cubbies and the Padres. A fun time will be had by all lining Nutbags pockets. You got your Pup night, then we get the Dollar dog (no, not the puppies) night, come the next night and wash them tasty dogs down with Miller Lite pre-game happy hour. They are getting your ass drunk for the next night where the ever popular Free t-shirt giveaway will make you look snazzy for the homestand final where we'll have youth baseball and softball.

OK, feeling sad. Hang on it's just a 3 game road trip then we are back with Legacy Night and the big WWE night etc. etc.

    Suck it Bob!
