We saw how this worked out with Russ. I dont have much hope that a guy 6 years older can do better. Hopefully im wrong. Guess maybe will see good results with better help from our LT.

It certainly seems like we have drafted guys in the first 4 picks who can contribute to winning now with ARod. If Pickens can be cured of his recto-crainial inversion, ARod will have 2 big, explosive targets downfield, a solid receiving TE and a very capable slot guy in Austin. We do know at least that ARod will see and read the full field and know where to deliver the football. That at least will be refreshing.

I did not want the guy, but at this point the team is set up to bring him in and make an improbable run. So, let’s go.

That's kind of how I feel I didn't want Rodgers at first, but he gives them the best opportunity to be a playoff contender.

Pickens will want to look good this year, so he gets big bucks on his next contract. For that, he needs a QB to throw him the ball allot.

I`m sure he dreams of catching many throws from Rodgers, then getting out of town.

I’m OK with Mason running the show this year. Is he a top 25 QB? No. Can he manage the game? Yes. We have some good weapons with DK, Pickens, Muth, Washington, Austin, Johnson, Warren… He doesn’t need to play hero ball. Just execute the plan. As for having the right plan, however…

Yes but you replied to your own post which begs the question was it meant to be an edit or you're talking to yourself.

Not an unreasonable view. At this point in his career Rodgers can't carry a team. But he can certainly do enough with a decent team around him. As was commented elsewhere Wilson really struggled with reading zone defense and often when the first read was covered he looked panicked. Rodgers is still a very quick decision maker with the ball.
The critical factor is Jones at LT. Fans claiming he'll play better because it's his "natural position " are mostly hoping that is the case. The problems I seen with him at RT weren't position dependent, i.e. presnap confusion, poor hand use.

Anyone happen to know what the steelers offer to Rodgers is? At the end of the day, we don't have a starting caliber QB on the roster. Who knows if Rodgers has anything left in the tank but it would still be a better bet than what we have, IMO.

Nope just seemed odd and was curious. Don't really care to agree, disagree, or discuss. My curiosity has been satisfied.

agree, we had poor play at left tackle last year, and we also had trouble handling stunts to the inside. Wilson already has trouble seeing over the middle without a lane opened up by the line and he cant move around back there like he once did. We saw the results. Maybe like you said with improved play on the line AR will do better.

Though, Wonder how many shots a 41 year old Qb can take over the course of a season or game.

I don't think Rodgers has much left in the tank but he is the best option for the steelers to continue their non losing season streak....so another 9-10 wins season and down 21-0 again in the wild card round if they make the playoffs

Rodgers doesn't want to play for the Steelers, it's pretty obvious. He's just waiting for them to move on first so he doesn't look bad.
