Harmon’s mother passed away

Last night. Apparently he went to the hospital to tell her he had been drafted and she passed later in the evening. What should have been one of the best days of his life is suddenly one of the worst. Feel terrible for the guy

He has to be relatively successful the first year.

I don't know why we need to have a tragedy backstory for a good sports movie these days. Old ones were, small town kid makes it to Bigs and becomes a legend. Now it has to be overcame death, disease, poverty, addiction, etc.

 

Wow I had tears in my eyes watching Rich Eisen's tribute to Harmon's mom. I am really going to root for this young man to have a great career.

 

What a tearjerker set of circumstances. Read that she'd been in a bad way for quite a while after suffering a number of strokes and had been on life-support. Hope he gets through it OK and uses it as even more motivation to excel. Prayers to you young man.
