I just can't believe here we are after the 1st round of the draft and it is still Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson in the QB room.

I am guessing I will be back after tomorrow night with the same thought. WTF???

Do the Steelers think they can win with Mason and Skylar at the helm?

There is really nobody they can get at the QB position to become a contender in 2025.

None of the rookies in this draft will do anything with this staff. They are mostly project QB's. Mason is serviceable, better than Fields, Wilson, or Pickett but talk about lowering the bar.

Cousins? Good enough to keep the Tomlin non-losing season streak going but not win a playoff game. His stats were pumped by being in the NFC, he is bottom half QB in the AFC. He is also 36.

Rogers? He is 41, flaky, and hasn't contributed to winning very much of late. No thanks.

I am in the acceptance phase at this point.

it's pure acceptance - there is no #7 anywhere close.

    9 wins, maybe 10.

    MAYBE.

MAYBE a backdoor playoff spot - again, 43% of the teams get in so BIG DEAL

    WOW

    AI Overview

The National Football League (NFL) has the largest percentage of teams making the playoffs, with 38% of its teams (12 out of 32) qualifying for the postseason. This is followed closely by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Hockey League (NHL), both at 53% (16 out of 30).

    Can this be?

Still a bunch of QBs on the board or they have a deal with Rodgers in place.

Agree. We might be on the outside this season if the Broncos, Bengals, Colts, Patriots, or Raiders make a jump. The Ravens, Chiefs, Texans, and Bills aren't going anywhere and likely will win their divisions.

At some point the lack of plan and gambling at the QB position is going to backfire. I don't think having a losing season is the end of the world, especially if it starts the process to push a certain coach towards the exit door and gets us in draft position to get a QB.

I think 9-8 and being at the playoff fringe is actually the worst outcome for 2025. Either win big or lose spectacularly.

Rodgers is coming to the Steelers eventually that is why we won't draft a QB until round 7.

I said I would be happy if we drafted a DT in the first and either Qwen Ewers or Will Howard in the 3rd round.

I just have to wait and hope that neither come off the board in the second round.

No. They are begging Rodgers ti come to pittsburgh. Stupid strategy but it is what it is. I would not have minded Dart in Rd 1 but here we are. They didn't reach for Sanders so there's that bit of good news. But they are looking for a guy that can help us to 9 and 7 so the excellence can continue

If Rodgers retires then the Steelers will either trade for Cousins, sign Wentz or Tannehill. They aren't starting the season with Mason Rudolph.

I know the QB draft class was considered weak. When I heard who they drafted my first thought was Mason Rudolph is the 2025 Steelers starting QB. Lost Najee. May or may not start with two hot shot WR's. Right now I can't see good things. Sure hope the O-line improves.
