Just funning with ya Rollers. Say did you hear about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac? He laid awake every night contemplating whether or not there is a Dog. :drinks:

Need to get rid of Pham, Frazier and Suwinski for sure. Trade Hayes if possible. BC needs to move a pitcher to Baltimore for 3b/1B Coby Mayo. Then bring up Gorski, Cook and York and let them all struggle and grow together.

Pirate players are not known for "growing" together. Just when they might get good they're gone to other teams

I don't know if I've ever mentioned move love for Tommy Pham. I love you Tommy.

His batting average got you excited;) There is the Medoza line in MLB which is under .200 average. They should have the "Bucco line" which would be under .150.

Yes to dropping Suwinski and bringing Gorski up. Suwinski is hitting well below .200. Gorski is hitting .304 with an ops near .900. Both players are close in age btw.
Trade Suwinski just to get rid of his contract. Release him and eat it if you absolutely have to.
This sends the message to players at Indianapolis that good performance will be rewarded, if nothing else.
Cook and Yorke have not done anything to warrant promotion so far in 2025.

Neither has 80% of the team, but that didn't stop Shelton and Cherrington from bringing them north:hehehe:

I'm Paul Skenes agent I'm telling him to ease back. Save that arm for a real team. It is obvious the Pirates will never be good again in Pittsburgh. Why go out there and pitch your ass off only to see your team score 1 run, if your lucky?

Bring the damn guys up from the minors. They could do no worse.

    F the Nuttings.

Sure looks like they're laying down for the #1 Draft pick again. Unfortunately they're going to have to try harder to play worse with the White Sox and Rockies still around. Looking for a 9 game losing streak after they get clobbered on their left coast trip to So Cal this week. Glad I moved further away from both Dodger and Angel Stadium so I wouldn't be tempted to bum some free tix from friends to watch this sheetshow live.

Well, the worst record won't ensure the #1 overall pick now that they've instituted a lottery. Having won the lottery and selecting Skenes just 2 short years ago (Lord, it seems longer than that), I still don't trust their evaluation of players very much.

Skenes was a no-brainer, and they paid him a record bonus, which I'm sure Nutting is still twitching and drooling about. But when you look at their other 1st round picks in the Cherington era, it's not all that impressive. Henry Davis is still struggling, Termarr Johnson is very slow to develop, Konnor Griffin is just getting started, Harrington is at AAA, Nick Gonzales is hurt, Levi Sterling is ???, and Carmen Mlodzinski appears to be best served as a relief pitcher.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see them draft for less expensive signability over the best talent. Thought of that when I saw Daniel Moskos make an appearance as the pitching coach for the Marlins vs. the Phillies yesterday

Not to mention trading for Canario, when they already had at least three guys who pretty much do what he does, on the big league roster or at Indy. It was not exactly the kind of bold move that is needed to improve the team. Presently, they have a roster made up mostly of utility infielders, fourth outfielders, and a few good pitchers.

The one game you should have bummed free tickets. Bucs clobbered the Angels. I see Mike Trout is batting like a Pirate. .177 average.

They won BECAUSE I wasn't there! Don't think I've seen the Bucs win on the left coast since I sat in a SF hotel bar and talked with Doug Drabek after he beat the Giants, hit a home run and went on to win the Cy Young in 1990. And we're probably talking a few dozen games in SD, Anaheim and LA. SF's been lucky for me, also saw Kordell Stewart beat the Niners in late 90's also at the Stick. Steelers almost ALWAYS lost on the left coast , especially to the Rams except for the 1980 SB at the Rose Bowl that I decided not to spend $50 on tickets for. But, again, they won with me watching at home.

I wish that the ability to win for either the Pirates or Steelers was as simple as either you or I not sitting in the stands. I believe we could collectively contribute that way. :drinks:

Yeah, speaking of utility infielders, isn't it about time for Cherington to bring Alika Williams back up?

Speaking of utility guys, our former beloved Kevin Newman (of the infamous Kramer-Newman Pirate infield) was slugging 0.125 for the Angels and starting at 3rd base last night. So, things could be worse.

I don't know how we ever let these All-Stars get away!! Imagine the powerhouse team we could have if Bob had just ponied up to keep them!
