It's interesting - if you look at Pat Kirwan's analysis, he projects Werner to be a 5 technique (DE), and not a rush LB, in our scheme. Kirwan knows a thing or two about evaluating prospects. Pete Prisco, who may be the most idiotic NFL writer I've ever seen, projects him as an OLB conversion.

He's a 4-3 DE...... We play a 3-4.... Too small for our Line and I don't see him switching to a 3-4 OLB... we have better options

Absolutely we should consider him at #17, IMO. He can flat out rush the passer and is strong enough too stack the edge in the run game..

if we have to choose betwen j.jones and werner , i would take jones , but i will be not so sure to do the right thing
i hope the f.o have a clear rank in their mind ,because this draft is full of similar value players
here they say is more a 4-3 de http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2013bwerner.php

I consider both Werner and Ansah as better fits as a 4-3 defensive end, Jordan, Mingo, Jones and Moore better 3-4 OLBs. That being said, if either Werner or Ansah falls to the Steelers I would be happy to have them.
