i think this is a good signing. shores up the guard spot with some depth.

 

Yeah Scharping has played in 64 NFL games starting in 33 of them. Playing in an NFL game is familiar to him rather than drafting a mid round rookie who might or might not pan out.

How many guys went down last year before the first game? The middle seems in good shape, still questions at both T for various reasons. Both 1st rounders, talent is there, but we will see how it works, but this is a nonsexy but very good depth signing, can now concentrate on other areas in the d=draft.

 

Yes I agree. It also makes me think they are looking to trade up which would require giving up draft capital that perhaps they were originally thinking of using on guard depth.

 

No OL were brought in for the 30 visits except for WV's Milum.

maybe trading seumalo for a draft pick and a money savings. this way they still have some vet leadership on the line. he would save 7.875 mil..
he is in his final season.

 

Unless someone drops a lot an OL is not a good pick this year

 

They might draft OL in the later rounds for depth.
