Not sure it really matters who we have at qb. Until this current coach is gone, it won’t matter.
    I said matter twice… hahaha

Doesn’t matter is probably a matter of fact no matter who they select, the fact of the matter is that MT is a HC who cannot develop any players and that’s all that matters.

As I told AQL, if you find a franchise QB he’ll be around for 15 years, I don’t see Tomlin sticking around that long.

I also think people are letting frustration get the better of them. It’s not like they have had great talent at QB to work with since Ben. That plays a heavier roll than anything else.

We had Brister Malone odonnell not franchise qbs. Yet we won playoff games and even went to a Superbowl.
    Tomlin the main denominator.

The same HC that had three different players win DPOY

Watt, Polamalu and Harrison would have won DPOY on any team from shear talent alone. They could have all won it more than once also and Heyward should have been on that list also. Tomlin had very little to do with their overall development. JMHO.

Thats not what I am talking about. You still need to draft the best players regardless of who the coach is.

It was (and still is) the combination of things. Colberts drafts were really sloppy, the O line got old and little attention was given to it, there was no real effort leading up to and following Ben's injury and then retirement. I like what Omar has done in his first 2 drafts, but the same problems on both sides of the ball make me wonder if there truly can be a fix without change, and not talking MT as much as Art...and not sure that is going to happen any time soon. I am seeing it in certain franchises, there are problem franchise's where the owner is to involved, then there is 'stable owner' who stays the course. We fall into the latter, and the adjustments and changes happening in the league we seem far behind. Even within the org. it was stated to expect changes after last season, where and when Art? lol

You’re right. TJ, Troy and James would have failed if it weren’t for Tomlin's great leadership. AB may have been more humble also if Mike didn’t turn him into a superstar.

Yeah, a defensive HC had nothing to do with the players getting any better . According to clowns like you Tomlin controls everything he's the DC and calls all of the plays .

I thought for sure that Cliff Stoudt would be good. He had size, arm, and a long apprenticeship to learn the job. Never panned out. On the other hand, I felt sure that Johnny Manziel would flop, and he did. He was undersized and did a lot of improvisation, which did not work in the NFL. Not to mention the off field stuff.
Ever see the quarterback jersey that the Browns fans made? Can’t wait for Pickett’s name to be added. They got Flacco back again, does his name go on there twice?

It’s wrong though. I am firmly on the “we should’ve canned Tomlin after 2023” train, but this is a ridiculous notion. Tomlin had something to do with their development (Heyward’s as well). But it cant be his fault when players fail and nothing to do with him when players succeed. Heck, Ben only had a couple years with Cowher (and his best years with MY), so he had something level of play in Ben’s development as well. AB, Bell, plenty of others on offense too.

I think Tomlin gets too much credit for the non-losing record thing (we didn’t have many, if any, teams that shouldn’t have won at least 8-9 games during that time) and not enough credit for the decline of the team… but this was bound to happen eventually. We can’t be good forever. The hope is that we spend as little time as possible in the bottom half. I think a change in coaching staff (and philosophy) will aid in that ability… but we still need a solid QB. We won’t have a true “resurgence” until we get at least an NFL average player in there at QB.

    Hopefully our list is just:

    Rudolph
    Duck
    Trubisky
    Pickett
    Fields
    Wilson

Duck and Fields don’t really belong on it, they were never the starters.
Might have to add Rodgers to it but hopefully they find their franchise guy next week :beg:
