Would not surprise me at all if Nutting doesn't start a campaign for major renovations to PNC and, not getting them, moves the team to Charlotte or Nashville after 2030 when the lease expires. There is a group already forming for Nashville ownership, that Dave Dombrowski of the Phillies could become part of in the near future, so a sale could be in the offing.

His management team has already started the negativity campaign with the Clemente Wall and Brick fiascos. Not to mention the relatively quiet off-season they had. I do not put anything past Nutting, especially when you look at the enormous profit he could realize by selling.

Off to to the Reds. The NLC are a group of teams that are fodder for the NLW and NLE. Cubs and Brewers probably going to battle it out. I can see the Bucs battling for 3rd place. Ya frigging who.

We won't be seeing any fans with bags on their heads at the PNC. Guy wore one and security made him take it off for safety reasons.

If you get Apple TV you can watch the Reds/Bucs game. Surprised it's not the better teams.

Bucs sucking royally. I've actually started rooting for loses only because I want PNC empty when Bucs at home. F Nutting family!!

I'm guessing come 2030 when lease at PNC expires there will no longer be a baseball team in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh could end up with a minor league team. This bothered me for a while but no longer does.
Years ago, there was a story that came out about an entrepreneur who started an egg donor service for supermodels. I think the cost was $50,000. A woman I worked with was furious about it. I said “So, let me get this right. If a man has a large amount of money to spend, he gets to fertilize the eggs of a woman who is above average in attractiveness, right? So when you think of it, how is that any different from the way things already are?”
So we may have a minor league team. Well, the last few decades have prepared us for that. It is no different from the way things already are.

I find myself wishing they would trade Skenes so he doesn’t waste his productive years on this stupid lost cause.
All the public relations gaffes and putting a lousy product on the field is ownership’s way of making a peaceful unchallenged exit more possible. They are killing the team and fan base, and wiping their fingerprints off the corpse. Here Today, gone in 2031.

I've always been an avid Pirate fan since my father bounced me off every bed in our house when Maz hit the HR. I went to 25-30 games a year in the late 60's early 70's. Went back to PNC a few times. I am done! I know my dream of a World Series is not happening. I'm actually rooting for loses so the damn fans stop going to PNC. Skenes is wasting time here. I also hope they trade him.

Bucs score 10 for Skenes. I guess we have to wait until his next start to win another game.

My mom and dad would hand me some money and I'd head down to Forbes Field or Three Rivers on the busses they ran for every single home game. They would drop you at the stadium and wait for you after the game. That is as dead as a door nail now

I took the trolley car from Castle Shannon to Forbes Field front door with 1 transfer Downtown. Left field bleacher tix were $1 and a friend's uncle was the late Phil Coyne (served as an usher at 3 Pirate ballparks until he was pushing 100) and he'd let us over from the bleachers to empty box seats along 3rd base after the 3rd inning for no shows. Great memories.

Bucs are really piling it on today - Cruz homer on 2nd pitch of game and crickets since - but Heaney pitched S.O. ball for 7.3 innings. 1-0 heading into top of 9th. Do you realize that 6 of the 9 starters today are at or below the Medoza line (with a similar bunch in the dugout)? At least they get to play abominable baseball in the #1 ballpark in the MLB (when you throw out Wrigley and Fenway of course).

And your Pittsburgh Pirates win another series taking 3 of 4 from the Nats. 1-0 shut out today.

3.5 back baby, making our move.:roflmao:

I use to save my paper route money and sit in Left Field for a dollar. Took bus from Shadyside then Bloomfield. Never forget freezing up when a Pirate you are not fond of came over to talk to us.

Honestly can't blame Wilver and his attitude in LA when you consider how many times the Pirate closers lost a lead and the game in the bottom of the 9th at Dodger Stadium. His shining us on in their hotel probably followed one of those late frustrating evenings. I'm sure even Mother Teresa had her moments. ;)

Good strategy - sandbag and lull everyone with this Mendoza lineup but stay within striking distance. :thumbs up:

What is NAB and NLH? I think there are more horrible teams in MLB than is warranted. There are 6 teams below or right at 400. yeah it's early but I'm thinking there are other horrible owners in MLB besides our boy

Sucks when you need to buy the best players to compete. No excitement knowing your team doesn't have a shot before the season even starts.
