I just did four rounds. Stillers don’t have a 2nd. Might try again and not take Milroe. If he ain’t “The Guy” I ain’t takin a QB. And Restrepo has got better year by year, but is smallish, though not in smurf classification.

The mock simulator I went on allowed me to take this four round draft.
#21. Derrick Harmon DT from Oregon
#83. Quinshon Judkins RB from Ohio State
#123. Malachi Moore - Safety from Alabama
I had to do a double take when I saw they had Judkins still there in the 3rd round.

If you really like Will Howard he will be there at pick #83. I looked at a few draft boards and they all had a 4th or 5th round grade on him. Walter football did have a big range on his possible selection anywhere from the 3rd to 5th round. PFF had him rated late 4th to early 5th, NFL.com had him at a 4th round grade as did the NFL Draft Buzz

This one was on the PFN draft simulator. I traded a 2026 3rd to move up for Dart. Do I think he’ll be there at the end of the2nd? Likely no. Also, I can’t imagine Sawyer getting out of Day2, but there he was in the 6th. Go figure.

I’ve just begun seeing Kalebs name attached to the Steelers but have yet to watch any of his games.

    Whats he like?

He's okay. I think he could develop into a David Montgomery type. He has good vision, is a pretty sound all around player, and a bigger guy. He's not super explosive or particularly threatening in space, but he's probably a slightly smaller (and slightly more burst-y) Harris type. His floor is much higher than a lot of the day 3 types, so I went with him in the 3rd.

I honestly don't think he will be. The draft boards from the "experts" are highly unreliable outside of the top 20ish picks. I think he is probably going early second to early third. I could be wrong of course, but I just don't see why he'd be available that deep in the draft. Bad combine performance aside, his film is very good, he played his best ball to close the year, and he has the size profile that a lot of teams like. He had a nice pro day as well.

If we go another route at 21 and he's somehow available at 83, great. I'd love to have him. But, it is very risky to wait... especially if you think he's good enough to be your starter eventually

I think we as a fan base get too hung up on draft "value". Like we LOVE picks where we get a guy at 52 that was the 33rd best prospect ranked by the mock people... or HATE picks that are at 25 but he's the 38th ranked prospect, etc. A player's value is always determined by how he turns out. Not by what he was ranked by non-scouts. If we had a draft that saw us pick Brett Kiesel in round 1, James Harrison in round 2, Antonio Brown in round 3, Ramon Foster in round 4, Alejandro Villaneuva in round 5, Jaylen Warren in round 6, and Chris Boswell in round 7... we'd want to fire EVERY coach and scout in the building. We "over drafted" every player on that list by a wide margin... but that would be one of the best drafts in the history of our franchise. Its far too speculative to think that certain players are going to be available at certain picks bc of mock or sports sites. They don't really know.

if that is their guy though, you wrap him up for that 5th year option. especially at that position. 4 years down the road we don't have a lot of players under contract and have the money if indeed he is the guy to build around. it's not just about this year with that position. the guy did win a national championship. not saying he's the guy i want but just the thinking about how to draft a QB. it doesn't mean they can't draft another one next year if one falls to them. the problem is losing that 2nd may send guys higher than they want to pick them as well.
