The new kickoff rule will now have the receiving team bring the ball out to the 35 yard line if the ball lands in or through the end zone. The league is hoping this will create more returns.
Also the OT rule in regular season will be the same as in the playoffs, both teams will get a chance on offense.

They need to go back to the original kickoff rule and move the kicker back 5 to 7 yards. Kickoff are so boring now. Also get rid of the new stupid on-side kick rules.

    1) The OT change is fair

    2) I thought the reason for the new kickoff rule was to prevent injuries and now they say they want more returns

Players can get injured just running onto the field as we saw a couple Superbowls ago. They need more kick off returns. The last rule change was terrible.

They did eliminate the huge running starts. I remember talk of it being more like a running play as far as scheme but it doesn't seem like that materialized.

What is the Penalty for faking an onside kick; as in you say it is an onside kick, and then you kick it deep.

Not a fan of the Onside kick can only be used in the 4th Qtr. It was always fun when a coach tried to get the jump on the opposing team by onside kicking when no one expected it.

To me this would be like baseball outlawing the bunt, to help protect players safety. I remember watching a perfect game get broken up by a bunt in the 8th inning. The fans went nuts.

They are ruining football the same way they have ruined baseball. Oven mitts for gloves, bases larger, automatic person on second in extra innings. Torpedo bats that hit the ball to the stratosphere. All previous records don’t stand a chance.

If the onside kick goes beyond the onside kicking zone then it is a dead ball and the receiving team gets the ball 10 yards from where the kicker kicked off from.

My crazy ass "Steroid Era" idea for Baseball has always been that the "4 Ball Walk" should be treated as a penalty and the Batter can accept the penalty, or decline it and get another full at bat. Funny, we would have probably seen Barry hit for the century mark in HRs, if he could have declined the walk. :)

Back in the day I hated intentional walks. Having to actually watch a pitcher throw 4 balls out of the strike zone was just to boring for me.

Until that pitcher and catcher get complacent and the batter reaches out and gets a hit. It happens
