It's a hugely popular video game for a reason. And that reason isn't the game play (I mean it's fun, but nothing unique). The reason everyone loves it is the atmosphere, characters and story. That's why people hate when they adapt video games into movies and such. They never focus on what made the STORY good. It looks like HBO went the opposite way and went hard into characters and atmosphere. Only a teaser, but it looks great.

And Oberyn Martell + Lyanna Mormont? Sign me up.

Hmmm... hard to say. Most of them are disappointing at best - suck out loud at worst.

Maybe some of the Resident Evil movies. They were at least entertaining even if they got a lot wrong.

Don't get me started. Especially with that cast, it should have been a homerun.

And then they poured salt in the wound by making the movie canon.

Yes I shouldn't have started because it pissed Me off also. Remember when I said before I quit playing video games because I had to do everything, and get everything.....those games where some of the culprits. LoL

I know I'm in the minority but, I find video games to be a big waste of time. I did like pinball. In fact, it used to be you couldn't play pinball unless you were 18. We managed to do it anyway. And, we had a pachinko machine when I was a kid

Ahh Pachinko see how quick you flick the lever to send bearings flying up into play.
Most ended up being taken outside with a slingshot and lost.

Well this looks like a good reason not to cancel HBO. I do dig that young girl. Seen her in other things, she can really act!!!

Thought they did a really good job with this, just binged it last week. Both leads are great, but Pascal is especially good as Joel. Ep. 3 was phenomenal.

If I had critiques, I thought Ep. 7 dragged. I understand what they were doing with it, but it was ill placed in the midst of other things that were going on and it was obvious from the foreshadowing sprinkled into earlier episodes what they were setting up with it, so I was impatient with it. Otherwise I hope they can avoid TWD's trap of having a strong start followed by seasons of meandering, over-dramatized arc episodes that often go nowhere.

Sounds like the writer's strike will push the second season to 2025, which sucks.

Just in time for golf season.

    IYKYK

If you don't, don't search for the explanation of that joke. Major spoilers. You'll find out soon enough.

The last panel doesn't really apply. It's a reference to a character in the game's appearance. But that character on the show won't be freakishly buff, and strong.

But it's funny if you've played the game. And since the show doesn't stray too far from the games, will also apply to the show sans the last panel.

And as I said, IYKYK. If not, avoid spoilers at all costs. This is just a tease. You'll get it soon enough.

The plot picks up five years after the first season. Back in Jackson, in the US state of Wyoming, Joel and Ellie’s relationship had become strained, and a traumatic event disrupts them both. This leads Ellie on a journey to Seattle to seek revenge.
