This is one of the reasons that I called it a botched FA period, not only should the Steelers have improved the OL they should have also
improved the DL in this FA period.

Yeah, it would difficult to label him as a "Meddling Owner" (Jones/Snyder/that nutbag at the Jets)
Formula is a good term. "Stay the course" would be the command.
I think he needs to have a little aggression though to just get over that next step.
18 consecutive seasons of being in the race is not something to foo-foo. It's just that resounding thud at the end.. lol.
The old saying "Familiarity breeds contempt" is in play here.

What starting O-line position is open right now?

Backup players can be signed after the draft.

I would rather spend that cap space on starters right now like RB and QB

I've always thought it preferable to have a vet or two on the line. The younger talent can be inconsistent as they adapt to playing on Sundays, and sometimes don't pan out at all.

I was hoping they'd sign a solid FA guard, but they must think McCormick is ready.

could be several. seumalo is in his final season and didn't play his best ball last year. mccorrmick will get his shot again but has some ways to go. there is nothing set in stone for the tackles yet. yes we have draft picks we think can man that spot but one of them is pretty much a rookie again and we don't know if he can make it through a season. the other is also iffy at times and switching sides. frazier is about the only sure thing there. why get that new qb or rb killed without proper blocking? that's as foolish as it gets. a waste of money. they can't throw or run from their back.

Jones struggled last season. Fautanu has played in one regular-season game. McCormick is far from a sure thing. Frazier and Seumalo are the only set starters, and Seumalo is in the final year of his contract. There was plenty of room for a veteran guard or tackle to compete for a starting job, but the Steelers sat on their hands until most of the good options were gone.

They are in good shape, they just need to remain healthy. Something they didn’t do last season.

McCormick played very well. Seumalo I believe was playing through an injury. Not worried about Fautanu at all.

Jones is the biggest question mark IMO. Make or break year for him.

Fautanu has played in one NFL game. He is far from a sure thing. McCormick wasn't bad for a third-string rookie thrown into the starting lineup, but that doesn't mean he was good.

I agree with you regarding Seumalo, but there are legitimate concerns with everyone on the line but Frazier.

Does anyone here listen to the DK Podcast? Does anyone know how to submit a question for the J1Q section? I literally want him to ask Tomlin or Khan a question on how come they didn't do anything regarding top tier talent with all that cap space in free agency. Any help would be appreciated.

If they signed top tier talent in free agency it would affect their comp picks in 2026.

And that had no impact on their decision making whatsoever

    Why

Let’s not sign a quality player who can help the team because we can get a comp pick for someone who has a good chance of being a bust

    That makes no sense

Look at the guys they signed a lot of guys who were released doesn't affect their comp picks, and the only guy they paid big money to came in a trade Metcalf.

I think Khan admitted to it in a way when asked about it at the owners meetings.

Khan admitted that collecting comps has played a roll in their decision making.

As for why, my guess and it’s only a guess is they want to put themselves in position to move up for a QB if such a scenario arises. And if not then they have a lot of draft picks.

It's not my fault you don't understand how the comp game works .
