Would rather not have this drama factory on the team.

He’s gone into a black cave and will resurface in 5 days. If he sees his shadow……

    how bout this instead:

    Dear Aaron Rodgers…….
Since you can’t decide whether you want to play or not this year, we’ll decide for you. We will not be requiring your services at QB this year, Thanks for your interest.
    Yours truly,
Art II (if he had any balls)

Now there are reports that Rodgers doesn't want to play football anymore. In other words, with the Giants signing Wilson and Winston, he has no leverage to try to force more money or a longer deal from the Steelers, so he's floating the idea he won't play at all. Good. Retire. Save the Steelers from themselves.

To be truthful, I would’ve rather had Winston as a bridge than the Dark One

Tomlin is too turnover averse to deal with Winston, but I wouldn't have hated seeing them bring him in to compete with Rudolph.

Hope Mr. Rodgers retires. Would much rather roll with Rudolph in 2025. Draft a QB in 2026.

I don't think Rodgers' decision will affect whether or not they draft a quarterback next month or next year. It certainly shouldn't.

Aiyuk was using the Steelers to squeeze more money out of the 49ers. Rodgers was trying to use the Giants to squeeze another year and more money out of the Steelers. Now he is using the only leverage he has, time and the threat of retirement. If the Steelers budge even $1 on their offer, they are idiots.

Not quite..... Aiyuk used us to drive up the 49ers offer...... A.A.ron has no such leverage..
It has been said recently that he preferred the Vikings, but they are all in on JJ McCarthy

I said I hoped that Steelers waited until 2026 to draft a QB. I am aware that they could roll the dice this year, which IMHO would be a mistake.

Maybe, but I don't think Rodgers is too concerned over the money aspect at this point. He wants to go out on a stronger note than he did with the Jets. Saw a report this morning that said the deal was no longer the issue, it was whether Rodgers wanted to play. No idea the veracity behind it, but it makes more sense to me that he's pondering whether he wants to take a chance on being a part of a ho-hum 9-8 season that possibly misses the playoffs.

I agree that they shouldn't budge from their position. And at some point they need make a decision for themselves and move on. Because after the Aiyuk ordeal, dropping a second and $132M on Metcalf, and now this, Khan and Tomlin are now beginning to look like, well...

That report has been out there for a while. It wasn't anything new. I simply don't buy it. I'm sure Rodgers doesn't need the money, but this is about status. It is about food for that massive ego of his.

I heard from some in the local media a one year deal has been out there for Rodgers for a while, he's not taking his time trying to get more money.
