Controversial, but Omar Khan and possibly Tomlin should be terminated if they fail to sign a QB

Thats what I meant, if the Steelers believe in him as Mayock said in the video. I didnt mean pick a name out of the hat.

Whether the Steelers believe in one of these QBs or not, it’s still rolling the dice on a class that isn’t thought very highly of.

They believed in Pickett too, that was absolutely rolling the dice.

Just like the Steelers ****ed Mason in Year Two by not giving him a QB Coach; something just about every NFL Team had in 2019; if not all of them. For that matter, they have royally ****ed up Broderick Jones' development as well. Pat Meyer ain't it chief... and yet he was retained.

    ?!?!

Yes, more good examples, especially how they are handling the line.

Every single draft pick is a roll of the dice. My point is that a QB shouldn’t be selected in the 1st round if the team doesn’t have conviction. They had conviction when they drafted Pickett and were wrong.

I have a feeling that we are considering Milroe in the 1st round irrespective of what the draft analysts think. If their thinking is “maybe we can coach him up to reach his potential,” then they shouldn’t make the pick. If their thinking is “we know we can address his deficiencies, and here’s the step by step plan and why it will work,” then they should. Only make the QB pick if you truly believe and have a plan.

Often that is posted by someone who simply doesn't like what was posted. Otherwise, why bother to comment on something that you supposedly didn't read?

How? He wasn't the starter. He was filling in for an injured starter and the offense had mostly struggled, so they went back to the starter in search of a spark. It worked, but only temporarily.

To be fair I think with the change in offensive game planning and the QB change in general when he got his shot, helped keep teams off-balance enough to win those games and get to the playoffs. Once teams got a chance to look at it and figure out how to attack him, it all fell apart. He did have some great slant throws in there that allowed the receivers to get some YAC. We saw almost the same with Pickett when they got rid of Canada.

I think Mason could keep the team above .500 for the first half, and if you have a kid behind him, you may want to give him some snaps to see what you have.

I'm not sold on Smiths offense though, once again we saw glimpses of a functioning NFL offense, then went right back to the predictable shell we've seen for too many seasons. Frankly the O-line coach should be let go. No real development and the mistakes those guys were making that late in the season are inexcusable!

It wasn't just Tomlin with this QB coach thing though. Cowher did the same thing to Kordell when it was clear he needed a dedicated QB coach.

    They've signed two.

I would say they should have been fired if they signed Fields to what the Jets signed him for.

Let's not forget, the Steelers have maintained one of the smallest coaching staffs in the NFL throughout the organizations history. They are known for it.

Dart > Sanders. (Dart is better than Sanders)

It may take a little bit of time but Dart wld be the franchise QB choice, Cam Ward as well, Pickett comparisons because it wld be 1st round are N/A, Dart physically stronger and more durable than Pickett,

    Sanders
    Dart
    Howard
    Shough

My targets. No particular ranking other than I think Sanders has the best chance to succeed.

I miss Prime Ben days where he would pump fake with the ball so damn hard you just knew it was coming out of his hand, but he just held it!

The last time we got a franchise QB was following a bad year when we went 6-10 and we got a shot at drafting Ben who was the third of three top QB`s.

Fans don`t want to hear about tanking a season, but it has value.

If we find ourselves without an actual starting QB it may be part of a plan.

I also believe Dart can be very good in this NFL.
I liked what I saw of him in the film room. He makes every NFL throw and does it from different arm angles.
    BUT

He need to get with the right team.
If he were to go to say, Kyle or Payton, he's going to get the right coaching.
I am slightly concerned here. I think we almost need to stumble on a sure-thing type QB in the draft.
Development is critical and I know for a fact Burrows would be insulted as Pickett here as that crown prince of idiot, Matt Canada would have botched that too.

I think if Dart hits the right team, his chances of success are much better.

Do you think the Steelers could be the right team for Dart?

Didn’t want to start a new bash Tomlin thread so I’ll stick this in here but this is the mentality I want from a HC.

Keep in mind that Burrows is good, but to take that team over the top they needed to have his college receiver as well. They're always a different team when it's both of them out there.

The top 3 teams desperately need QBs. Let's see if they pass on them to know what they really think of this class. All three teams are publicly saying 'we won't force the QB pick", and I won't be surprised if at least one team trades down for a different position instead.

I dont care what agreement they had with Wilson short of it being in writing which would be incredibly dumb to do.

He never played a game for them, wasnt an entrenched starter and regardless of how you feel about Fields you generally don’t see players benched when the team is winning.

Why wouldnt Fields have reservations about playing for a coach that did that to him.
