I bet a friend of mine(who is an Eagles fan) a $100 that the Steelers would win more games than the Eagles?

    What do you guys think?

I'd say you're right. I honestly wanna see all these guys that come in to the NFL to implement a college type system fall flat on their faces. I hate gimmick style offenses and I would be happy if ANY team using the wild cat or whatever "innovative" system would lose every game. Line up and play like a man. It's like Joey Porter said about the Colts. "They just wanna trick you". I hope the Eagles don't win a single game and I bet that we do win more than them.

I wouldn't have made that bet but then again I have never bet on the Steelers since the Bubby Brister fumbled snap against Denver back in 1990 playoffs.

I think you'll be collecting your winnings in about week 14 or week 15.

There`s a reason it is called "GAMBLING"...
No one has a crystal ball.
    Personally, I like your odds.
Even with all the offseason releases, turmoil, uncertainty, etc...
I have a gut feeling, that we are due to bounce back, and have a good year.
If you break down all the releases, etc, it looks like we are a weaker team, and especially if we are missing Heath for a big part of the beginning of the year, we may indeed be...
But I was also pretty damn sure we were a better team than Dallas, at the beginning of last year, when I made a similar bet on overall record against a fan of theirs, at the beginning of last year.
Then came games like the 8 turnover debacle against Cleve., and a ton of injuries..
And we wound up tied... Even tho we still had a game directly against Dallas in the later part of the year, that by all rights, we SHOULD have won... Ben throws a couple ridiculous picks after coming back from injury, against them and Cincy, and we wind up with the same record as them...
    So, WHO KNOWS?!?
I don`t blame ya for making the bet.
I would also make it, but, that is all it is...
    a GAMBLE...
For one, you can`t predict injuries, turnovers, or blown calls by the refs...
That`s what makes it fun to watch.
Honestly, I am worried about our team in transition. I`m worried about our lack of runningbacks, receivers, and I`m definitely gonna miss seeing #92 out there on Sundays,
    But,
I just have a gut feeling this team will bounce back, and show some effort that was definitely lacking last year, esp. against supposedly inferior teams.
We have a lot of guys who saw what happens when you don`t give it your all, and hopefully they learned from that.
We just have too much history, and tradition, at least since the 70`s, to bank on us falling apart, all of the sudden.
Even when we struggled thru the late80`s/early90`s, we managed to get to the Bowl with Neil O`Donnell, for god`s sakes...
This team is NOT gonna lack for effort, and lay eggs like they did last year!!!!:)praying: I HOPE!!!:herewego!:)
    GO STEELERS!!!

7 and 9 compared to 6 and 10 yes I do like your odds but not by much.
Ben will have to win atleast 2 games HIMSELF this year just for us to have sight of a playoff position.

The Eagles unfortunatly will get better, but not this year. Safe bet. Chip Kelly will turn it around. Maybe then he can transform the idiot fan base. The most obnoxious group of people I have ever been around. If they start winning it's gonna get ugly...

A coworker and I have an ongoing bet for the last 2 years and will do it again this year. He is a Giants fan. It's for a hundy as well.

Easy money, the Eagles are imploding... They've made a lot of really bad moves this offseason.

    * Hired a HC with no NFL experience, and a scheme that I think has little chance of being successful. There's a reason it isn't already in the NFL.
    * Hired a west coast offense, OC with no experience with that scheme
    * Re-signed the horrible turnover happy Mike Vick
    * Hired Billy Davis as DC who has already had 2 stints as a DC and was demoted to a LB coach the following year both times
    * Switched to a 3-4 defense which means a lot of square pegs for round holes

I have a good friend who is an Eagles fan and just last night I was telling him how dumb their fan base is. I told him that they ran McNabb out of town pretty much but he brought them more success than anyone. They hated Andy Reid but he constantly had them in contention. They begged for Kevin Kolb forever and when they got him how long did that last? I mean even the BILLS weren't willing to invest to much in him. AND if THAT doesn't beat the band THEY BOOED SANTA!!!

And threw batteries at a referee... and had a court and jail cell in their old stadium.

It is painful living as close to Philly as I do.

That's funny they had an actual cell because I always considered their stadium as one big drunk tank. LOL.

    :this!:

No one in that division strikes me as a force to be reckoned with this year.

Was it at an Eagles game or a Phillies game where the Philly fan puked on purpose onto a guy and his daughter?

I think if RG can stay healthy then Washington will be tough. They have a good back up too so they aren't dead in the water without him even, I think they win the division.

Per NFL.com, they also signed Pat White. I guess the plan is to keep running the read option if RG goes down.

I have made the same bet with a Cowboys fan ($50) for the past 11 seasons. Im down $50 after last season. We both finished 8-8 however the tie break was the head to head game. We all know how that turned out.
