I won't be thrilled over an Aaron Rodgers signing but I've resigned myself to it. There were no sure fire options this year. Only Stafford would be a home run but he ended up not being available. Rodgers is about the best option despite his baggage and age. I don't think we're winning the Super Bowl with any of them. But Rodgers put up decent stats last year on a team with very little talent.

Agree with everything you said until the part about team with very little talent. Jets had better O line, RBs and WRs than Steelers. Steelers would be a downgrade for Rodgers.

i was watching something about why rodgers was keeping us waiting and their response was that it doesn't matter what rodgers does because the draft won't change because of him. i do agree. you still draft a qb at some point and move on with or without rodgers. if he's here great but the future is with the draft pick. with the talent we have here let rodgers eat for a year or two and let him teach this new qb. it doesn't even mean we can't add a qb draft pick next year either. we still need backups. if he makes these guys better so be it. if not we keep looking.

The Jets did not have a better offensive line.

It does matter because the Steelers need to move in another direction if he isn't going to sign with them. The Steelers were foolish to put themselves at his mercy.

I think it’s going to be the Steelers. Pat posted an old clip of Rodgers speaking of his love for the city of Pittsburgh and for Tomlin. Two other reports indicate the Vikings and Giants don’t believe they will land him.

The speculation is the announcement will come on Pats show today.

That tracks. One way or another, if I'm the Steelers, I pull my offer if he doesn't decide today.

That's where I am, honestly. I think they should have signed someone and kept moving with some of the other names on the board instead of holding up the process over Rodgers or Russ. However, they have the money to sign Rodgers and add some extra pieces around him. Let's say they add Kupp. Rodgers, DK, Pickens and Kupp with Muth and Warren is pretty damn stacked. Get the line healthy and ride.

With the choices being AR of Wilson it’s Rodgers for me all day.

Any other QB left that is available is even worse.

If the Jets are designating ARod as a post June 1st release, we should be planning on drafting one in April.

If they sign him, even if he balls out, this is kind of what I'd be thinking (Ueker at the end):

    • Hilarious Hilarious x 3
    • Winner Winner x 1

Can we just forget about Rogers and bring Russell Wilson back!?

Not that I'm real fond of Wilson either, but he at least had a year under the system - such as it is. And with DK now here, some chemistry too.

But don't give them any ideas before they sign BOTH of them and cap us to hell for years.

DanO loves Dart and doesn't think he gets past Pittsburgh at 21.

I am no fan of bringing Wilson back, but if it were me I would give Rodgers my best and final offer and give him an hour to respond. Then I pull the plug.

I am more in favor of bringing in a much less expensive journey QB and draft Dart or Howard and let them watch and learn. Just because it didn't work out with KP8, doesn't mean you quit trying.

Technically Rodgers is still under contract to the Jets

Until that goes away he can not sign anywhere else

Yes, and if the Jets are not planning a cut until after June 1, it is time to move on. I would be more in favor of a journeyman type QB and drafting Dart or Howard in the first round.

Sure hope this doesn't end like the WR saga last year. Hopefully Omar learned not to put all his eggs in one basket.
