I know this is a long way off but in case anyone is interested Overthecap has the Steelers getting three compensatory picks in 2026, a third, a fourth and a sixth

    https://overthecap.com/compensatory-picks

    T
his could of course change depending on what happens with Russ and as more guys get picked up in free agency but they should hold the third and fourth at a minimum, all going well.

I still can’t believe Moore got that contract from the Titans.

As of right now, we qualify for 3 6ths (Harris, Jackson, and Daniels). Both Najee and Fields can up to a 5th and a 3rd depending on playing time and meeting some other guidelines.
Elandon Roberts qualified for a 7th, but was cancelled out by Malik Harrison.

People who are surprised about the Dan Moore contract are not understanding how comically difficult it is to find even a solid starting Left Tackle. A star level Left Tackle is even harder to find. Superstar level Left Tackles?!

Those appear once every couple of drafts. Andrew Thomas was the last one that was worth getting excited about; five years ago. Such players don't grow on trees.

As far as I can tell, both Brian Callahan and Bill Callahan got one of the best Overall players in Free Agency. Dan Moore has a ridiculous number of snaps at the blindside and is only 26; soon to be 27 in September. He is never going to be a star Left Tackle but all Bill Callahan needs him to be is rock solid; something Dan Moore was for the first half of the 2024 season.

Why do I keep saying Bill Callahan?! He is up there with the likes of Dante Scarnecchia and Jeff Stoutland; two of the greatest Offensive Line Coaches in NFL History. Hell, even JC Latham, a player with massive talent and potential but very limited technique and understanding of fundamentals, turned out to have a rock solid Rookie Season under his tutelage.

Don't sell the likes of Bill's work short. Wherever he goes, Pro Bowls to All Pro Awards await the Lineman that study under him.

You know free agency is going well when the biggest emphasis is on our comp picks for next year.

That’s fair, and I do think Russ put the Tackles under a lot of pressure (literally) last season by holding the ball, and several of the sacks he gave up were coverage sacks where nobody was open. Maybe DMJ isn’t quite as bad as he looked.

He does have huge experience and Callahan senior obviously sees something in him. For all the complaining we fans did about DMJ he was a late fourth round pick that hardly missed a snap since he was drafted and now they get a third round comp pick back. He was a terrific draft pick where they got him and considering what they’ve paid him in the four years. Best of luck to him.

Off topic but a very important note regarding an AFC Foe:

Why is another team being posted here?! Here is hoping Broderick Jones can put it all together this season!!! He sure as hell didn't the last until the final five games. Call DMJ whatever you wanted but he was reliable and dependable during his final two seasons here.

Cannot say the same for Broderick thus far.

How does Baltimore get 15 comp picks every year?

    They got a 4th, 5th, and 6th.

People keep signing their players. Coincidentally enough, the Steelers have been apart of Baltimore's seemingly never ending reservoir of comp picks.

Currently 2 fifths and a seventh, but I read somewhere they signed a low qualifier, so the 7th is gone.
Edit- DeAndre Hopkins, $6 mil 1 year.

I'm sorry, I was referring to the ones they have for this upcoming draft.
