You wouldn't need him to be elite. You need him to be a solid contributor, who has valuable experience and can be a stabilizing force. And, you should get him at a good price for one year. They only have one rb right now.

Patterson is still on the roster :hehehe:, I would rather draft a RB to share the load this draft is deep.

No, you still draft a guy, but you aren't forced to draft one high if other opportunities arise.

My wife now has two obsolete 22 jerseys hanging in the closet, lol. Henry Titans 22 and Najee Steelers 22. Good luck Najee!

I mentioned a while back that the Chargers probably made the most sense for him. A team that wants to feature a back that carries the ball a bunch and is dedicated to big package sets. I like the fit for him, and honestly gives him the best opportunity to be somewhat successful. He's probably not an upgrade to Dobbins as a player, but if this year is anything like the rest of his NFL career... Najee will at least be available.

I wouldn't mind signing Dobbins. As long as it doesn't stop us from drafting a back, I am all good with it. As the #2 in the backfield with Warren, it should keep his carries down enough to help him stay healthy. Not sure what it would cost, but I think he could be just as productive (if not more so) at half the price of what Najee cost or less. For as much as I like some of the backs that will go in the first 50ish picks in the draft, I am not sure that we can afford to draft one that high (even though I think this is the best draft to do it). I know there's still more FA to happen and I could change my stance... but we missed out on getting a starting quality QB, we haven't gotten a vet DL yet, nor a vet CB. I'm almost leaning towards having to draft a QB this year (or next at the very least) in the first. There are other spots it can go, and without that second rounder there are few options for us to get one of the difference makers in this class without getting very lucky on a day 3 guy.

Warren should be an immediate upgrade over Najee, but we still haven't seen him in a lead role yet. Getting someone like Hampton, Judkins, or Henderson would be preferable.

His base is less than what Warren got. The rest is incentives.

That lower salary also hurts their compensation.

Yep, I noticed that yesterday when they said the deal was worth "up to 9.25M."

Smart move for the Chargers. Hopefully Harris is able to max it out.

I still wouldn't draft one before the fourth round, sign Dobbins for a cheap deal to be RB2.

I bought my son an AB jersey and then I bought him a Najee jersey. This year I may just buy him a snow shovel.

Former Dallas RB Rico Dowdle wouldn't be a bad pick up.

I would’ve extended him back when we had the chance. Solid, face of the team, dependable, and no matter what's said, he always managed to go forward. IMHO

Steelers fans love to dog on players. I always thought the Najee criticism was a bit over the top. So what, he dances a bit but he usually got some hard earned yards behind a terribly run blocking Oline. We are no better off without him. Get rid of our young players and possibly sign a dinosaur for a QB instead.

My reaction was a complete face palm. I was telling my wife that I am not gonna buy anymore players jerseys and then explained the AB and Najee situation when he said that.
