Daniels fate was sealed when they drafted McCormick.

That's why Khan said they wanted to have a QB under contract before free agency started, Fields kind of gave them the middle finger they offered him but he never responded.

It looms large, but securing a good WR1 with just a 2nd round pick (and paying him accordingly of course) was a good play. We don't have to pick a WR now. The problem is that we haven't been able to fill our other holes (DL, CB, QB) yet through FA, so we're just sitting here with money in hand doing nothing while other teams are agreeing to terms with players.

That second rounder was probably where I was going with our RB this year (or RB first and DL in second)... But I was under the assumption that we'd sign a few guys and all we have (outside of the high of trading for Metcalf) is a back up C and a back up/ST ILB.... We need to round out the squad or else we're going to be in a tough spot.

Not necessarily. They always could have just kept Daniels and released Seumalo for McCormick. I think the fact that McCormick looked like someone who could be a good player down the road eventually sealed the fate, but a 4th round G doesn't really mean you're letting your good 27 year old G hit the market.

That was my point. I don't have any problem with the trade and extension of Metcalf so long as they were planning to address other needs on the team. They were okay doing so without the second-rounder because they had ample money to spend. But with the FA pool quickly drying up the money is losing its advantage, which puts a lot of pressure on the draft.

And if they're sitting on the money so they can give it to Rodgers they're making a colossal mistake.

They told Daniels before last season they had no interest in re-signing him.

And I don’t get why. To me he was our best, most consistent lineman in 2023.

Probably because this was before Daniels got injured and guards are getting paid in free agency, they had Semaulo coming back and drafted McCormick.

There was talk on a radio show today that the number of RB's going in the 1st round may surprise people, especially with the supposed 'down grade' in the position the past few years. IDK if it happens, but he felt once the run starts it will be like a run on positions in years past. This might be a good year for the team to try and move out of the 1st, perhaps get a high 2nd and 4th or 5th. Still could find a quality RB, CB. and or DL with 2 2nds.

After Rams signed D. Adams, Puka is giving him #17 and he's going back to his college number 12. Nice of him.

But it's a mistake they have made before and more than willing to do so again.

Russ and Rodgers are both ass, so just sign the cheapest one and get this over with. What a stupid thing for the Steelers to focus their time on.

As I jokingly mentioned in another post, if he wants to prolong his career he needs to get out of Tennessee now that they have the two-way turnstile Dan Moore

The max number of comp picks a team can receive is 4.

I believe we get a 5th for Najee as well.

Mason would be a fantastic backup, regardless. He gives us quality quarters we'll potentially need.

It is all a ruse. Skylar Thompson will be the started and make the fans forget Bubby Brister, Scott Mitchell, and even mark Malone. This is our destiny.

Najee's has been downgraded to a 6th, since most of his money is in incentives. However, if he meets all his incentives, it will go back to a fifth.

Source: QB Jacoby Brissett plans to sign with the #Cardinals. Arizona’s new QB2 has 53 career starts, 11 with Cardinals OC Drew Petzing as his quarterbacks coach in Cleveland.
