Free Agent. Knee injury in 2023. Foot injury in 2024. 7 years in the NFL, all with the Browns.

Career average carry of 5.1 yards.

I would rather go with a draft pick. There are a lot of good backs in this draft, Chubb was great in his time but he isn't that player anymore.

While I do agree with you, lets not forget Barkley and Henry. Chubb is right there with them in skill. It all depends on the cost to us. Probably better, as you said to pull from the draft.......but I have that what if? feeling....lol

Barkley and Henry haven't had the devastating knee injuries that Chubb has had. Too bad for him, he was as good as any back in the league when he was healthy.

If he looks healthy and passes a physical, then sign him to a team friendly deal. To me, it is worth the risk if he has a chance to return to the player he was.

I’ve mentioned him, he was playing at a high level still before injury. If hes fully back to that this season it would be a sneaky good signing however they are paying 5.4 million for Warren so I don’t really see them spending money on another back after not paying Najee.

    They will draft one.

Corderelle Paterson is currently on the books for $3.75 million. Cutting him save $2.8 million. Throw in another million or two on a prove it deal.

This season will be a truer reflection of where he is at in his career.

And 3.3 yards per carry after Minka took out his knee in 2023.

    Hard Pass!!!

Now, Aaron Rodgers and Nick Chubb backfield would have looked great Pre-Covid.

I would still rather get a young RB in the draft they're supposedly looking for speed, they can find RB3 as a UDFA.

Barkley has had a number of injuries, including a torn ACL and MCL a few years ago.

At the start of the season Chubb will be two years removed from the knee injury. Last season he came back less than a year removed from surgery on his shredded knee. Shredded. He was obviously rushing to get back, and actually started to look better in his last couple games. Then, unfortunately, somebody stomped on his foot and injured him again.

Chubb is one of my favorite rb's ever. Tomlin obviously loves him. If he's still out there in a couple weeks, I'm bringing him in for a look-see. Give him a one year deal, what's the worst thing that happens?

Agreed. I wouldn't hate it if they could get him cheap, but if he's not cheaper than Harris, they are just compounding a big mistake.

I wanted them to draft Chubb in the first round even with Bell and Conner on the roster, so yeah, I can be talked into the logic of rolling the dice on him even at 29.

Same here. I remember a draft 'scout' saying that Chubb would never be what he was before his knee injury at Georgia. Good call buddy. I'll never count out Chubbs ability to bounce back after that .

I have read that Dowdle might be cheaper. If that is the case, I think he might be the better option.

He can split carries 3 ways with Warren and Gainwell. Or sign JK Dobbins. Would be better than what the Steelers has last season.
I would use the draft picks for DL, WR, and maybe mid round QB.
Franchise QB in 2026 draft .

Chubb was not better than Harris last season. Dobbins can't stay healthy. There is a very good chance they will be worse than what they had last year.

    That's your opinion.

Najee ran like he had a refrigerator on his back , also ran to the wrong hole many times.
3 backs are better than 2 , of course injuries will happen and Najee is not getting any younger himself.

Harris was better than Chubb last season. That is the opinion of anyone who understands football and paid attention this past season. Chubb averaged only 3.3 yards per carry and finished with 332 yards. Harris averaged 4.0 yards per carry on 1,043 yards.

They used three backs this past season, too. Is Gainwell an upgrade over Patterson? I'm not so sure.

Maybe Warren stays healthy and adapts well to a much heavier workload, but my opinion fits the available facts far better than yours does.

Under that scenario, why grab a QB in the draft this year then? Just get one in fa and use the pick on something else.
