Think this is along the lines of in the modern era you can never have too many TEs. College has gone that way and the pro game is just reflecting that too.

Fair enough. Kind of like Roger Staubach. A great player but for the enemy.

There are some Charger players that I liked. Lance Alworth (In true Charger fashion, they traded him) Drew Brees (see Alworth) Wes Chandler, Winslow, Tomlinson.......

No, though he was nice when I met him. As a player, I thought he was a hot dog. Especially as he got older. He would jump on the pile after someone else made the tackle and get up like he had actually done something.

With 5 linemen and 1 quarterback that leaves one more

Are you using a back or a receiver

In either case you will not be up against 8 men in the box but rather 10 or 11

It's all a matter of opinion of course, but for me Gates should be a first ballot guy.

I think he replaces MyCole Pruitt, who's a free agent and turns 33 this year.

He made it this year. Amazing he never player college football, BB, he was an undrafted, remember a quote from someone in the chargers org, that his hands were so soft they immediately saw the potential.

That was amusing. I like and have always liked Conner, he is a football player, just does not seem to fit a specific role in this scheme. Does ok on special teams, there were moments when I thought this guy reminds me of a Randy Grossman type, does not excel at anything, but you know he is there. Not so much this past year.
