GAAaaaD! Seems like this nightmare will never end! The Rooney’s need a full decade of mediocrity before possibly making changes.

Here's a list by Greg Rosenthal that has his top 101 free agents. While I'm sure that the order of players on the list is going to be very subjective, it should be a good list of solid players who are available in free agency. Good spot to see a bunch of the free agents that will be available this year in one spot.

    https://www.nfl.com/news/top-101-nfl-free-agents-of-2025-the-original-ranking

Our QBs are both on this list. Fields is at 21 and Wilson is at 57. I can agree with this assessment for both of them.

Quarterbacks come at a premium on these lists, especially young ones like Fields with some obvious positive attributes. Fields was efficient with Pittsburgh, and some team -- possibly the Steelers -- should want to see more.

No one wanted to pay Wilson last year. After an up-and-down run in Pittsburgh that ultimately showed his shortcomings, Russ profiles more like a quality backup than a good option to start in Week 1.

Other Steelers on the list are:

    Najee at 49.

You’ll never get cheated out of effort from Harris, a quality that goes a long way at running back. He lacks explosion, however, and receiving skills.

    Dan Moore at 51.

Steelers fans have been complaining about Moore for years ... as he's steadily improved into a serviceable starter at left tackle.

    James Daniels at 68.

Daniels played more than 1,000 snaps in each season from 2021 through ‘23 at a league-average level for the Bears and Steelers. He’s coming off a torn Achilles tendon, which hurts his value greatly.

    Mike Williams at 71.

Williams never looked 100 percent last season, and it's a question if his jump-ball skill set will age well. That said, he’s a buy-low candidate because he could look healthier another year removed from knee surgery.

I'm hearing talk among Steeler fans I know that they would take a 2-4 win season if it OPENED ROONEY'S EYES!!!

Steelers probably somehow eke out 9 wins and magic Mike is sitting pretty again:(

I expect the Steelers to sign 2-3 players to big contracts.

I do understand their reasoning. They want the culture changed as I do. I hated our seasons where we won only 6 games. We rarely went below that in the SB era. I couldn't take a 3-4 win season. I simply wouldn't follow the NFL if they were that bad.

TBH, I think Steelers could go 0-17 and Mike will be our HC in 2026.

Tomlin is signed through the 2027 season. So 3 more years. Well, 2 more until they extend him again.

Seattle traded QB Geno Smith to the Raiders one less option for Russell Wilson.

Don't be surprised if Russ signs with the Steelers, it's being reported Fields is going to test free agency.

If Fields gets a payday elsewhere, then I wish him well. I don’t want the Steelers paying him on a large multi year deal like an established NFL starting QB. He’s never been that, and it’s very uncertain whether he ever will. I’d be good bringing him back on a 2-3 deal that pays him like a lower tier starter for 2025 and requires a decision next offseason to keep (and pay) or release.

Maybe Russell Wilson will go back to Seattle now. More than likely though the Seahawks will go all out to sign Sam Darnold.

Getting rid of Geno without a QB in place to step in seems more reckless than Khan getting rid of a WR without one in place to step in.

Has tremendous capacity to blow up in their face.

The only QB on Seattle's roster now is Sam Howell, so yeah they are screwed if they don't nab Darnold. That would force them to draft Jaxon Dart in the first round if all else fails.
