We'll see if Dart makes it 52. More and more mocks lately have him going at the top of the second, often to the Jets.

Wake me up if Shedeur Sanders starts going out of the Top 20, and tell me it is time to be scared. Sanders is dropping like a rock right now.

Now, Shylo Sanders is another Story. Shylo is a hitting machine that destroys both the players he hits, and his own body from hitting too hard. In the NFL he will be a penalty machine for hitting people to hard.

Was crazy Shilo was not invited to the NFL Combine.

Sounds like he'll be a late-round flyer or UDFA. He's had quite a few injuries, including a torn ACL, shoulder surgery, and a broken forearm. When he's on the field he's got good vision and can hit like a truck, but he'll have to refine his technique if he wants to avoid flags and missed tackles.

was like one of my all-time favorite steelers thomas everett. small but the guy would wack anybody and usually hit them so hard he would hurt himself in the process. he ended up going to dallas and won a super bowl ring there. i wish we could have kept him back then.

Oh yes, but that's less than 15 starts per player. Most players aren't finished products after 15 starts... hell, most aren't finished products after 30. Fautanu and McCormick are coming into their first full year starting. Frazier has one year starting (and it was a good one), and Jones is coming into his second full year starting and his first at LT (sat to start his rookie year, though year 2 wasn't as we had hoped). Its a young group. McCormick and Fautanu will be 25 before the end of the 2025 season. Jones and Frazier are going to turn 24 before the season is over... The guy with the most starts of those four (Jones - 27) is just barely not the youngest (2-1/2 months older than Frazier).

I'm not saying we can't add a player.... We probably want to have someone that can compete with McCormick (maybe bring back Herbig?) we need some back ups (swing tackle, back up C). Heck, we can even sign a starter if we want. But we spent the capital on OL already. We have to develop the young players we invested in and see who sticks and who doesn't. We can make decisions from there. I wouldn't mess with the starting 5 (outside of competition for McCormick) until after the 2025 season. We just don't know enough about the guys we have to make those judgements yet.

seumalo is in his final season. even if mccormick works out you will still need one. why not complete the job you started and not leave one big hole? we have tried with mid rounders and UDFA's and we are still trying to fix the line. it is pretty important to making this whole offense better. from running game to qb and wr's. next year you insert the draft pick with a year under his belt and many more starts with the guys you already have. guard is pretty important keeping the defense out of the qb's face and making the run game go. why just plop anybody in that hole? we spent the money for daniels and seumalo and had a good tandum. that has created a huge hole now.

The Bengals just released their starting RG Alex Cappa today. He might be signed for some depth behind McCormick.

Cappa might be too old they could re-sign Nate Herbig instead.

So, how the heck did Milroes hand size go up over half an inch? Apparently his hands measured 9 3/8 inches at the combine. At the Senior Bowl they were 8.68 inches. Slightly over 8 5/8. Somebody messed up somewhere or somebody is covering.

On the Dan Patrick Show, they were talking about this this morning. The scout or so called expert was saying at the Senior Bowl the right hand may have bee measured, and at the Combine the left hand was measured. You would think for a QB, they would measure the throwing hand both times.

I admittedly haven’t compared measurements of both of my hands for comparison, but that difference seems large for anything but a lobster.

There have been games where I’ve seen that 1st round potential in Dart, and others where I’ve definitely not seen it. I do think he’s better coming out than Pickett was, and Pickett went #20… but that didn’t mean that Pickett was a legit 1st round QB, but rather that our evaluation was way, way off. Dart could certainly go very high if 1 team is sold on him.

Bottom line: I haven’t seen enough yet to take Dart in the 1st, but if he’s there in the 2nd he may be worth a shot. Still more watching to do though.

I don’t buy it. I think the way teams view QB’s and analysts do is miles apart. Just like Picketts class where the analysts had several first rounders, even top 10, we saw where their real value was. Except for Pickett which was a bad reach.

I think Rd 2 is the highest we’ll see Dart go.

This post has the potential to age very badly! We’ll see.

Did you see Michael Penix going #6 overall? I sure as hell didn’t and neither did the analysts. If a team falls in love with a QB, they’ll jump. And I think they’re right to. Trust your own analysis and if you think a guy is a franchise QB, don’t wait.

Thats my point, teams have a different grades on these guys than the hobby analysts.

If Penix doesn’t turn out much better than every QB from Picketts class I will be shocked.

TBH I wouldn't think it would be the end of the world to take Sanders. Hear me out.

    1. His college roster was GARBAGE compared to the other high end QB's. His OL stunk and he had 1 legitimate playmaker (albeit a good one in Hunter)
    2. Everyone KNEW he was going to Hunter all day and he was still able to put up quality numbers
    3. He is accurate and a quality processor. Good arm, and prefers to escape to throw and not run
    4. Seems like he would thrive in an NFL offense surrounded by quality playmakers

The downside of course is that he came across as a diva and bad teammate at times... This is the conundrum. I think he's as solid prospect, its just whether or not he's a solid personality for the job.

How would anything be different if he were drafted by the Steelers? Or are you saying that he's used to playing with a bad o-line and 1 legitimate playmaker, so he'll fit right in here?

There is the assumption that our FO makes an effort to improve our weapons. Also, our OL is far from the worst in the league. Also it is very young, there is a high chance that it improves in a meaningful way.

It's easy to look at the roster now and see a bunch of holes, but FA period is about to hit and we actually have a ton of money. The roster should look a lot different prior to draft day, and even more so afterwards.

If Sanders were to somehow drop to us I have a hard time believing the Steelers wouldn’t trip all over themselves running to the podium.

I agree with Stink here. Also as I have said before I am a big time believer in pedigree. That doesn’t mean I believe that every player that has bloodlines will be a big time player in the NFL but some of them stand out to me more than others and Sanders is one of them.

Yeah, I agree. Plus some of the arrogance stuff can be toned down. A decent locker room with some established vets could do wonders for him. Plus, arrogance is arrogant when you're losing/suck... but its bravado when you're winning/good. He has a lot of nice tools, and if he somehow drops to us, I would imagine we'd take him.
