For those old enough to remember her amazingly mesmerizing voice, Roberta Flack passed away today at 88. Mellow Jazz singer from the 70's before disco unfortunately ruled the roost. Well done Ms Flack. RIP.

RIP Michelle Trachtenberg, 39. Most famous for her part on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and some other shows popular in my daughters' demographic. Most famous to me for playing Jenny in Eurotrip. Much too young, but apparently she had been sick for a very long time and recently had a liver transplant. Complications can happen.

Also, and this one is a bummer:

RIP Gene Hackman, 95. Found dead inside his home along with his wife and dog tonight. Too little info to speculate, and it would feel wrong to do so. I mean, he was 95. That isn't a shock. But the wife and dog too?

RIP Gene! Sounds like carbon monoxide. Just a guess. Gene made it over 90 and had a women (RIP) 30 years younger. He won.

Hmmm.... Still not sure what happened with Gene Hackman and wife. I was sure it was carbon monoxide but seems it's not. They were dead for awhile and now it's suspicious.

RIP Mr. Hackman. Such a wide range of characters he played over 5 decades. When he started out, he shared an apartment with 2 other nobodies going nowhere - Dustin Hoffman and Robert Duvall. So, since we're on the subject - favorite Hackman role/movie? Hard to beat the miserable Little Bill he portrayed in Unforgiven but he was great in Crimson Tide and The Firm. Your pick?

Of course Popeye Doyle is the obvious one with one of the best urban car chases in cinema (not including Bullet).

He elevated every movie he was in. Unforgiven being one of my favorite movies ever, it's hard not to say that one.

Didn’t see condolences for David Johansen. The New York Dolls were a seminal punk band that influenced the likes of the Sex Pistols, Ramones, Smiths, Damned, Replacements, just about every 80s hair band and Guns N’ Roses. He then reinvented himself as Buster Poindexter and topped the charts

NOTE: Also posted a similar one in the Song of the Day thread but with the Breaking Bad Video by Badfinger.

In honor of the last remaining member of Badfinger passing (guitarist Joey Molland), here is a relic video of My Baby Blue. Lead singers Pete Ham (1975) and Tom Evans (1984) both died of suicide due to complete mismanagement of their earnings over the years by a very devious manager. Mike Gibbons (drummer) passed in 2005 of a brain aneurysm) and now Joey Molland. RIP Badfinger - you guys had some great music but got royally shafted along the way, the complete opposite of the opening lyrics to this song. :applaud:
