    Not so far

And certainly not by a factor of 5 or more

If they go with Fields they need to make the decision now, and get him into the facility right way to rebuild his throwing mechanics.

I've come to realize we need a guy with legs at the QB position, but he has no touch on the ball.

It hinted at his potential, but his every down play was inconsistent and the offense was stagnant with him being used as a more or less conventional QB.

If they re-sign Fields, they need to let him cook and open up the offense.

It's precisely plays like this that continues to give people hope when it comes to Fields.

Just cause I'm talented enough to make a 40 ft putt occasionally doesn't mean I'm going to beat Tiger Woods in a game of putting green Horse. There's a huge difference between a guy who can do it once in awhile, and those who do it routinely. Honestly, it's the difference between a starter and a back-up.

If by “cook” you mean that they need to let him run often enough to make defenses account for the Qb run game, I agree.

Then you shouldn't be trying to compare the two players

I didn’t compare the two players not by any means

You need to work on your reading comprehension

Go back and give it a try again and see if you can see where you made your mistake

Ir find an English teacher if you can find one that isn’t dyslexic

I mean...sign Fields and Lance and you have 3 guys that could you build the same offense around. Do I love it, no, but I don't love much out there.

Absolutely. We need to run him about 8-10 times a game if we want to have him at QB. The fear of that plus an explosive RB would put defenses on their heels for a change. Then we start hitting them with the PA game and all of the sudden GP and our #2 are gashing the defense down the field. We should look at Philly's offense and try to emulate it. It would be tough to top it initially, but we could get fairly close. That style of offense obviously is good enough to win the SB. They can win games offensively and win them defensively. Below is kinda the idea I'd look for.

AJ Brown Jalen Hurts Devonta Smith George Pickens Justin Fields Chris Godwin

    Saquon Barkley Treyveon Henderson/Jaylen Warren

Obviously Barkley is great and a rookie and Warren won't be enough to take that over, but Pickens/Godwin is nearly as good as Brown/Smith (maybe just as good) and we'd only need Fields to throw for 200-220 yards a game and run for another 50ish. We do that, and I think we could get ourselves into top 10 offense territory. A top 10 offense with a defense that causes as many turnovers as ours would be hard to handle. We'd stand a chance in the postseason of actually breaking the L streak.

Maybe the Steelers were fearful of running Fields too much because Wilson was injured at that time, Tampa is expected to re-sign Godwin. I wouldn't want him anyway would be too expensive coming off of that serious injury.

Same here. I am not a big fan of Fields. I think he's mediocre, but if you're gonna sign and start him (assuming he wants to be here, he probably doesn't after being yanked), then get him on the move EVERY play. Can have him start to roll out and a little shovel pass to the RB (help to open a hole maybe).

Always have him rolling or moving, then designed runs, delayed runs, and well designed passing plays that get some open space for 1 on 1 and hope like crazy Fields can throw it withing catchable distance and not throw 20+ interceptions.

All that said, the above plan won't work well in playoffs (what a shocker) when top level defense and DCs get time to plan and really clamp down on his running, we're toast.

Unless the Steelers over pay, both of them should explore free agency
