They all but stopped throwing to him the later part of the season. Was pretty much just a decoy.

No thanks. Guy had like one big year, four years ago. He's played 32 of the last 51 games(3 seasons). Plus, that contract. For 5 million a year, yeah, bring him in.

Kupp will be 32 when the season begins. Just another 30+ WR looking for a home.

Contract wise LA will eat $22 million to save $7 million. Current 2025 Cap hit $29 million. Kupp also has an additional $7 million roster bonus due this year, so as the article says, LA is going to have to get him off the team quick.

If we assume the Rams deal him prior to March 15 - when he triggers a $7.5M roster bonus - and assuming no restructures to his contract, the acquiring team gets a 32 y/o receiver who has missed 18 of the last 51 games and is slated to count $20M and $19.8M, respectively, against their cap each of the next two years.

Granted, there would be no obligation to keep him past 2025 (i.e., no dead money), so $20M for one year + the draft capital to acquire him.

Love what he did for LA over that three year period 2019-21, and think he could still contribute, but I'd have to pass on that.

I’d rather draft the guy who broke his records, Efton Chism. Remember, Kupp came from the same draft class as JuJu. As solid of a player and teammate he is, he’s definitely on the wrong side of 30 for a WR

JuJu is currently 3 years younger than Kupp and playing on a 1 year league minimum contract and will be a UFA after the Superbowl.

As the RoboCop saying goes... "I'd Buy that for $1." :)

My guess is that they won’t find a trade partner and he’ll be released.

Agreed - and if that happens, I’d be fine with the Steelers taking a look.

I wouldn’t want to give up any picks in a trade, nor sign him to too large of a contract.

Maybe for a 5th and bring that contract down to mid teens.

no way would I want a 30 million cap hit, and shutting higher than a 5th.

Kupp would be a very good addition - 5 years ago.
He's one of those guys dedicated to his trade. But a 32-year-old WR is not a solution.
Keep your picks and draft a solution.

I would take a 32 year old Devante Adams for the right price.

Devante Adams is a different sort of player. Jerry Rice-like.
But at 32, the right place is low....
We really need one of those young guys like Terry McLaurin types to come out of the draft.

Pass, he isn't going to make any significant difference. The stealth rebuild should be taking place now, with a placeholder year in '25 with a placeholder QB, putting future playmakers in situ before going all in on a QB in '26 draft. Out with Wilson, out with Slowee, and redo the WR room. Hopefully the line comes together, and maybe Milquetoast Rooney has some sort of Road to Damascus moment (or a bump on the head) and finally realises it's time to move on from Tomlin and hire a proper modern coaching staff that aren't from 30 years ago.

Maybe sign Adams for 1-2 years and also draft a WR because Pickens is in the last year of his contract.

Right now, I do not have any faith in our Front Office.... zero confidence.
I wouldn't mind being wrong though,

Any draft pick is a gamble, but the last 2 years we have traded a 5th for older WR and got squat. Keep the pick and draft BPA, do so diligent scouting and draft another wonder like Kupp with that pick. Tired of the thoughts we are just one guy away, and that guy is a injury prone over the hill performer.

    See Pickens usage.

If the Rams would take a 7th for Kupp and pay most of his salary, then the Steelers should be interested.

look for younger and faster-- taller-- with great hands and most importantly no attitude....DRAFT a WR.Im not saying Kupp has attitude.. it's just what we need someone younger.

That paying most of his salary might even be worth a 5th, we have cash to spend and can get more, but really need to focus on a legitimate longer build.

Rams are saying they will pickup some of his salary. Might be worth it if the price is right but just let him get released and then try and sign him if you want.

Can’t imagine any team being like we have to have this guy. Might be a nice complimentary piece but not worth giving up more than a 6th.

it's a shame the kept friermuth as the main TE. he's pretty average to below if you include his blocking. the kid from penn state would have been a nice addition to that room. muth has his moments but also disappears for stretches.

i saw a write up about egbuka in the 1st and judkins in the 2nd, and i have to say i wouldn't hate that. i do think with pickens, egbuka, wilson, austin, skowronak and a name i keep wanting demarcus robinson, i think that could be a formidable wr room. get a DLineman and Olineman and a QB out of this draft and get the rest from free agency. a good corner and another Dlineman.
