The Steelers don't have their LBs cover receivers anymore, so Edelman isn't being truthful.

 

Edelman’s comments seem to be more of a historical account. As the article goes on, it acknowledges that the scheme has been adjusted more in recent years.

I know we give up frustrating drives, but do think the defense is better against the short passing game than they were 10 or 15 years ago.

Against the Bengals at the end of this season, they were moving the ball well early on, but didn’t do much in the second half. Coming into that game, Burrow had been on fire with a string of 8 games with 3 TDs or more per game.
