what positions should we try to get in the draft and what positions should we try to get in free agency. having a vet in certain positions could be much easier to infuse into the team than just the gamble on youth and the draft. which positions do you think would benefit us better than the youth gamble?

We have to add a solid high end wide receiver. We just can’t go into another season with a head case #1 and a bunch of #3-4’s. Two new defensive linemen are in order. A replacement for Larry O and a NT(hargrave type). I would prefer a vet to replace Larry and a draft pick nt. Another CB or two would be nice. Again 1 vet and 1 draft pick. We need another guard to replace seamalu. I would use a late day 2/day 3 on a guard. Assuming Harris and Patterson are gone we need another rb as well. Maybe a draft pick and an udfa on that position.

We can only get so far with Wilson or Fields and I don’t know if there’s a viable alternative out there who can help immediately. There’s no surefire franchise QB in the draft and the FA class is full of has beens and never was. I’m going to go into the 2025-2026 season with low expectations

with wilson still unknown but with a year of learning and some practice already under his belt, i am very hopeful for his progress next year to help at WR. i was already talking about possibly looking to demarcus robinson. that would leave pickens, robinson, wilson, austin and re-sign skowronak. not to say we couldn't bring in or draft another one later. we have 3 7ths. there are some good one's we could work with.

i want a vet for the DL. we can get a vet that isn't too long in the tooth. until we get out of the two down defensive lineman set's a NT type won't get on the field much. the way we use these guys it would have to be a special player that fits what we do the most of. that limits us at this position. maybe the kid from michigan. kenneth grant.

as far as RB, i want a guy with similar running style to warren. quinshon judkins from ohio state would raelly fit the bill. so hard for the line to block for two different running styles. i do believe that najee's style didn't jive as well with this line. both judkins and warren run with some power but also have the quickness to hit a hole fast and the one cut ability to pick that crease and get through it.

There’s an article on SD from a couple weeks back that breaks down Wilson playing vs man and zone. The difference is staggering. When he first started with us teams were playing a lot of man. The browns played zone something like 80% of the time and Wilson struggled. As always with a copycat league teams followed that recipe for the remainder of the season. The eagles played zone 100% of the time. The chiefs 80 something %. Ravens were somewhere in the 70’s. During that 5 game losing streak the only team to play zone less than 60% of the time were the bengals. The point being Wilson should not be in the discussion for our starting qb next year. If he wants to come back as a backup for backup type money then fine. Otherwise thanks for your help and good luck with your future endeavors

CB/DB, WR and DT are all priorities and they need depth everywhere. I’m assuming that they won’t be drafting a QB

There are a couple of corners that they could look at in free agency. The WR’s like Higgins and Godwin will be expensive. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Pickens

RB in round 3/4 assuming Najee leaves

i'd keep pickens. we have done the work with him so far, why give that to another team? get someone that can get the ball to the guy and fix the people protecting said guy. also i want another top draft pick as a RB. it doesn't have to be in the first. these will be your guys touching the ball a lot. warren is fine, sign him but i don't think he will be an every down back able to take the beating for 17 plus games. i want two good one's that have similar styles. quinshon judkins comes to mind from ohio state.

Pickens doesn’t want to be here. You want a malcontent moping around possibly holding out?

WR, DL, CB, and RB I guess. No wasted picks on moon shot QB's in a weak draft.

I'm done spending on the o-line, we have multiple high picks recently and little to show for it except Frazier, can these players develop and can the Steelers be trusted to develop them? Lets see. They have mishandled 77 to accomadate a proven-to-be-useless-already Dan Moore. Not sure what they expected the result to be, with an inexperienced player, and 77 has to start taking this seriously, he played hurt early season but maybe got a bit better later. Overall he is well-down the bust road already, make or break next year.

All the real issues remain in place however, so good luck with that.

I Pick on Pickens and rightfully so but let’s at least not start accusing him of things he has not done

A bunch of mirin’s started this crap about Cam and they turned out to be way wrong

Pick on Pickens sounds like something you could find on a t shirt down

Agree but let’s also use some common sense. If he doesn’t get an extension he is holding out.

I wonder if Pete Carroll is interested in taking Russell Wilson as his stop gap QB in Las Vegas. They have Aiden O'Connell and could resign Gardner Minshew but that isn't much.

RB - the Steelers have had a type. 220Lbs-240Lbs, they don't seem to really care about the straight line speed. Is been a 'bellcow' mentality at RB. I would like to see a RB similar to Tony Pollard/Alvin Kamara/Leveon Bell. A RB that is used just as much in the pass game as a receiver as he is in the run game. If that guy is Jaylen Warren even better, cost is lower and he's familiar. We do need to add a hammer RB to go with that. Or FB.

DL - I like the idea of the 320+ guy at NT that is the immovable object and nothing comes up the middle. BUT, this defense is mostly in Nickel. If we have 5DBs, and 4LBs, that only leaves room for 2 on the DL. Because of this I would not spend a high draft pick or buy a premium FA. I would keep plugging in those 3T guys.

I don't think you can ever have too many LBs and DBs.

WR - Typically I see WR as a luxury pick, mainly because we usually have a few and we're just looking to add quality depth. We currently don't know what we have at this position. We know GP is fantastic. Throw him the damn ball! Then we have CA3, who has increased production each year. But he's still limited physically in what he is able to do. Then we(fans) don't know what RWilson is going to look like in this offense.
My vote would be to draft one of the top 'X' type receivers early.

QB - add to the room through the draft. Cannot win the lottery without a ticket. Today we only have Skylar Thompson in the QB room. Have a plan, then have a backup plan. The MOST IMPORTANT position on the field.

I also don't think we are finished with the OL. Get a veteran Center to backup Frazier. Need plug and play guys at other spots. No more 'raw' prospects.

Looking at this team I can't see how CB is not the teams #1 priority. (Steelers screwed up last year when they passed on Quinyon Mitchell)

The Steelers have been trying to land a free agent CB for the last few years and have little to show for it. There is a reason those CBs are unsigned and on the open market.

I think RB can be filled by a free agent.

I also hope that Arthur Smith is allowed to bring in a QB that he likes. Even if it is just for a backup spot like Desmond Ritter. I believe Arthur Smith was told by Rooney that they were signing Wilson, was told by Tomlin that they were signing Fields, and was told by Khan that they were signing Allen.

Doesn't this describe Nate Herbig. He signed a 2 year contract with Pittsburgh in 2023, so he is a free agent in 2025, but I think if the Steelers can get him on a cheaper 1 year deal, it would be a good move to bring Nate back. Last year's $5.4 million cap price was a little overpriced for Nate.

Nate has played in the NFL for 6 years, but is still only 26.

pickens has never said that. he wants the ball and should get it. why let that talent walk? extend him. don't break the bank but give him a contract extension. the only one's saying to trade him are the click bait guru's. if you are going to trade talent away, we have a lot of guys that could go.

    TOMLIN wants volunteers not hostages

Pickens is a head case that will never be happy in this JV passing offense we utilize.

    Texans fired Bobby Slowik. Wow!

He was a hot shot after what he did with Stroud last year, his first year with them. He was a name for a head coaching job. This seems weird considering his 3 top wr's all missed considerable time and they won a playoff game.

He came up with Shanahan for 6 years. He was their passing game coordinator before the OC for Houston.

I wouldn't mind adding him to the staff in some capacity, although he'll probably want an OC position and we already have the best one.
