Ben Johnson to the Bears

The Bears hire Ben Johnson as their new HC. This should really help out Caleb Williams.

 

Wow Lions should have done whatever possible to not let him go to a rival.

Sort of like how the Giants screwed up with Barkley.

 

Lions didn't have a choice in the matter I'm sure Johnson wanted to go to a team with a young franchise QB.

 

To the surprise of no one.


Now the onus falls on Ryan Poles to get things right. Given how he is the one that didn't advocate for Kliff Kingsbury to be the OC, Caleb's first year was a disaster. If Ryan botches another Offseason, he is as good as gone.

 

Do not know the specifics of these contracts, but usually at this level they would (the agent) have the language that any interview or hiring for a position higher than their current role must be accommodated.

 

I believe it is an NFL rule, a team cannot block a promotional interview. There are rules regarding timing though, such as during the season and after start of league year.

 

Lion fans got to worry their chance has past them by.

 

So the Lions couldn’t keep the band together for one more try?

Liam Cohen has changed his mind and is now taking the Jags job. He originally turned it down to stay with Tampa Bay but Jacksonville must have sweetened the pot for him.
