Jimmy Carter served. There have been many that held office. They don't all serve.

    Even I found that Odd

There were a lot less gas stations back then and Full Service was exactly that.

    Loved the old car/gas commercial

No gatto gatto in your automobiiiile.

Not sure if you mean places that sold gas or full station stations? Not sure if it's a left coast California thing but there used to be up to 4 joints on every commercial corner that sold gas (including 7-11's and Stop and Robs) and now you have to drive miles just to find one. And it's not like they all converted to EV stations which are even harder to find.

Are you thinking of Jimmy Connor? ;)
I know POTUS' suffer from being in the wrong place at the wrong time and Jimmy definitely suffered from that. Mortgage rates pushed 20% during that period and everything else was completely out of whack economically speaking. They even started selling gas by the liter in CA to give the impression that gas prices weren't as crazy as they really were. Most people couldn't convert liters to gallons so the ruse worked for a while. He was a decent man for sure, just bad timing and policy gambling.

Not to get into politics here. His years in office were economically disastrous. I mean the man. He was a servant first.

Got it. And being a fellow Engineer, I gave him every benefit of the doubt - it was just a dark period in this Country for reasons way beyond his control.

Way before many of your times, Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary just died at 86. Saw them a few times way back in the 70's and in spite of their very serious protest and equality songs, they were actually quite funny on stage. Lots of comical moments that balanced the nature of many of their poignant tunes (put Bob Dylan on the pop 40 charts). Had a brief encounter with Peter and Paul back in the early 90's when I was checking out of a very nice niche hotel in Los Gatos CA and they were checking in, probably for an upcoming outdoor concert at the nearby Paul Masson amphitheater. I recognized them in the lobby and was expecting them to be carrying acoustic guitar and standup bass cases but instead were carrying golf clubs! Steel Machine would have loved seeing that. RIP Mr. Yarrow. Well done. You inspired some of my early guitar picking styles.

When I was a kid, "Puff....." was one of my favorite songs. I like their harmonies. RIP Peter.

Interesting. Now I feel bad making fun of them just to bother older sisters. Bob Hope use to do his comedy with a golf club in hand on his USO tours.

Day of mourning for Jimmy Carter today. I'm not sure we should mourn a member of our species who lived to 100;)

The always quirky David Lynch (Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet) passed at 78. Dude wrote and directed some strange stuff over the years. RIP Sir.
