Heard on a podcast today, Steelers didn’t score over 17 points the last 5 games. You have to go way back to the last time that happened, it was when Noll was here, they didn’t say what year it was.

Chiefs moved from 27 to 10 to pick Mahomes and cost them their 27th pick, 3rd rd pick and 2018 first.

Honestly, if thats what it takes for the Steelers to move up, I say go for it. The big question is whether this is the draft to do that.

I don’t see this being that draft.

Yeah, but that was pre COVID-era inflation. Really drove up the cost on early first-round draft picks. ;)

At this point who is out there to get ? Another retread ? Nobody in this draft that we can get up to so I am saying the lesser of the two evils at a cheaper price and try to get up to a qb next year when the draft is better. Fill holes with this draft and see what happens.

It would probably cost more to move high enough to get Sanders.

That is probably what will happen. They will go with the cheaper option.

If we go with Fields, we need to change to an offensive scheme that uses a lot of QB RPOs with designed runs/read options, and we will need a backup who can play the same style of football. If we’re going with Fields, we need to play to his strengths, not try to fit a square peg into a round hole.

They have to drop a little, the cost is astronomical to move into the top 5.

Very doubtful. At this point, based on watching games on live TV, I haven’t seen a single QB in this draft that I would take at pick #21, never mind trading up. Maybe Ward. I haven’t really broken down any games yet, so that’s just an impression from watching the games on Saturdays.

Tend to agree. I’m thinking roll the dice on a Dart or Howard after rd 1 and wait until 2026 to move up if neither of those QB’s look like the guy.

Yeah. It depends where they land. Dart intrigues me. Not enough for the 1st round, and probably not the 2nd either, but there were far more times that I was watching this year and said “damn that was nice” than “ugh.” Howard is a winner this year, but man does he have an All Pro team around him that makes it tough to assess.

I’ll say this about Sanders - I did see a lot to being intrigued with when I watched Colorado, but IMO there is huge risk of his father being a very public disruption the first time things don’t go perfectly. I wouldn’t want that outside noise. It doesn’t matter. Someone will take that risk in the top 5.

Until we have a solid OC and Oline any QB back there is going to struggle. Our HC is the biggest problem though because he keeps too tight a grip on everyone. He did it when Ben was QB and still does many years later. Rinse and repeat every stinking season.

Something very bad would have to happen to one of them for them to drop out of the top five. At this point, I can't see Sanders and Ward lasting past the third pick overall.

Looks like Tone likes Howard. Not a sure about two WR, would get one in the draft and one in FA.

Think we should go with new Qbs. I can already hear everyone ripping may suggestions but here we go
Give Arth a young Qb to work with. Trade for either Hendon Hooker or Joe Milton
Now for the options you will hate Jimmy G

Both Howard and Leonard earned some extra coins yesterday. I’d be happy to see either one in black and gold

I don't think Riley Leonard is all the good as a passer. But neither was Lamar Jackson when he got drafted.

The QB that has been the most consistent all season has been Will Howard. He also has the most top shelf talent around him.

The Steelers already saw that show this year. Fields is a younger version of Jones.

Starks feels Fields has turned the corner.

Do you trust an OL to evaluate QB talent? Why did Starks skip over the fumblitis that Fields had? Averaging one per game, he would have been the league leader in 2024. No way Tomlin would put up with that.
