Again though that’s more of a luck thing. No one wanted the guy after his last season in Cleveland. It would have been the right call 100%, but it was just the Steelers missing on a QB again. Not money.

Wilson will likely be back and I'm OK with it. Doesn't matter who the QB is...until the OL is consistent with run blocking and pass pro....no QB will be successful. Malone, Brister, O'Donnell, Tomczak, Stewart and Maddox won playoff games because Steelers had a badass OL.

If Rogers winds up here, I may have to adopt a pre-game vomit ritual.

There is also the possibility that Baker doesnt revive his career here. Same risk they run with trying to bring Darnold in. Who has confidence in this staff to put together a winning scheme for a QB to thrive in.

It was the best option from a long list of bad options. For the cost, it was actually a superb acquisition. For anyone that thinks differently, I would love for them to point to the quarterback we should have gotten instead. All the good quarterbacks already have a home. There are several " supposed to be good " quarterbacks out there that got massive contracts and then failed utterly. We could have had one of those I suppose. And we'd be on the hook for a bunch of money and have a terrible quarterback who's under contract. So I believe it was as good of an acquisition as we could have gotten.

    I see what you’re saying.

The main issue, which has been for a while, is Wilson’s progressions. But a good OC would work with that.

I didn’t expect much from Wilson or Firlds this year. I’m still fairly surprised we made the playoffs tbh

I have always thought that Russell Wilson was overrated. Play with the Steelers this season really hasn't done much to abuse me of that thinking.

I have always thought that Aaron Rodgers is a massive douche. Nothing I've ever seen from him has changed my mind of that thinking either. I really hope he does not come to the Steelers. It would make it hard to watch. He is one of those people that blames everyone around them for any lack of success. I get the impression that he is an extreme narcissist and not a good team leader.

That's probably an understatement about him, truthfully. I've seen/heard enough about his personal life to know he's just a truly awful person. And yes, a dbag.

How much of that could I withstand if he somehow wound up here and kick-started our offense to where we were an actual threat? Not sure.

Not Monday morning QBing, but I did. Baker had a great year bringing them to the playoffs. Then he tried playing injured the next year and I thought Cleveland gave up on him to early. In fairness I thought Lawrence in Jax was going to have a bounce back this year for the same reason, but guess not.

Turns out that was a miss but I give them a pass as his shoulder was questionable.

Half of Baker's problem was probably that he was spending all his time making commercials instead of preparing to play football.....lol...... He did not do all those commercials when he went to Tampa. Cause and effect? You can't prove me wrong! Lol

He does commercials in Tampa, too. Has since TB retired ahead of him.

I did not know that. I've never seen one since he left the browns. Maybe it's just a market thing? Although I don't live in the browns area either. So maybe it's because I watch the Steelers and it pops up being a ad within the division?

Local market for sure, no national stuff. Annoying because I just don't like his attitude. But I'd allow it for 41 TDs produced this season.

It’s not like there were many options in the off season.

Kelsey and MaHomes too. Might be something for the NFL to look into. Does doing commercials lead to players playing poorly?

I think they know they need to draft the next franchise QB but until they have a top 10 pick in the draft or they get lucky in rounds 2 - 7….free agents are the only option.

    Agreed
But it’s easier to blame Wilson than admit to the facts

I believe some posters are incapable of watching a game and actually understand what is happening

Shuda traded some capital to get up in there in the draft
