The owner is a business man that inherited a team , I don’t think he’s really a football guru or a fan himself deep down I think he just likes to keep things a-float so he can continue making consistent money from this pro team , he’s kinda like Tomlin he just wants to keep things steady and not rock the boat

It’s the Rooney Rule. Rooney doesn’t own all 32 NFL teams. Just ours unfortunately.

Yes, you are a troll and, surprise another "look at me" post for Jeh. Thanks for acknowledging this. Sad that a troll thinks others are trolls. Is there a single thread you don't say this on the first page? I haven't found one. THAT is a troll by definition my friend. Turn over a new leaf in 2025 if you want ANYONE to take you seriously.

So, the other 31 teams don't have to follow the Rooney rule?
    Right......

If it were up to Jeh, only he would be allowed to start a thread. There would be two threads a year and they'd be mind-numblingly empty. Probably not even related to Steelers.

Jeh, doesn't want anyone to have any discussions on a discussion board. That is way too much for him to allow.

"You are one of the biggest trolls on this board"

Maybe, but he'll never reach your legendary status Jeh the Troll King.

Rooney rule just says you need to interview minority candidates as a part of your search.

I hear ya, but I disagree. The humiliation Rooney thinks he'll go through is enough to keep him from moving on. He doesn't want to be laughed at for having a Rooney rule named after him only to can a minority coach who "never had a losing season". We're all stuck with Tomlin and if I am honest, it would be difficult to me, but a good leader would fire him this week and start fresh. It's about 5 years too late, but waiting another year will just make it 6 years too late.

I think Rooney is waiting for that 6 win season so its easy then. Sadly, Tomlin does JUST enough to make it too difficult for Rooney to pull the trigger. Make no mistake the Rooney Rule is weighing heavy on this, each and every year. The sole reason Tomlin isn't gone? No, of course not, but it's likely the weightiest factor.

Ok, some people are saying fire MT. Who are we going to get. AR2 is to cheap to get someone that will improve our situation. Look at the coaching staff junk. Are the players show it on the field. Personally I could care less about that stupid Rooney Rule but in AR2 situation he stays strictly by tradition of AR. Back it those that may have been the thing but this is 2025 and I don’t care what color a person is if he has the talent get him on board if not dump him.

Here’s the way I see it. I can do some little silly boycott (you know the one where I only watch Steelers games, don’t buy merchandise, etc.) that is stupid and convince myself that I’m really doing something. Or I can watch games and if I get to the point that I feel wronged or I don’t like the product I can stop supporting it fully.
Much like if I go to my favorite restaurant and over time the food and service go downhill. I’ll just stop going.

Agreed but a key difference he never had the quality of qb after terry that Mike had with Ben. That's on Chuck as well but a fact none the less.

    There is no head troll

There are about 6 of them in a big litter box in a circle doing……..

Ok I don’t want to think about what they are doing in a circle

There are about 3500 other posters on here that actually make this a great site

Somehow those 3500 get along just fine with me

I must be doing something right so I will carry on with gumption

100% spot on. But the optic of letting him go would be something I don’t believe the organization wants to deal with. Easier to just let the contract ride out. The media question would be posed trying to create a controversy “wlWhy would the Pittsburgh Steelers fire a coach that is one of the best in the NFL history, a super bowl winner, 18 non losing seasons whom players absolutelyl ove to play for and whose team is always in the mix, why???” Trying to light the fuse. That's exactly how it would go.

I just don’t like Tomlin man. I love the Steelers. I mean some of the players suck but that’s inevitable on every team.

Why does it alway come to this type of post? Why can’t people criticize a poor performance as poor and not being prepared as not being prepared? Every post comes back to some sort of Rooney Rule slight or blame. Cower went for year failing and they didn’t fire him, same with Noll. Maybe the ownership hangs on to coaches too long IDK, but why do all the narrow minds alway go to that direction. If the guy was white people would say he sucks, if he’s black, he’s only there because of his race. I guess I don’t really care but why is our society and culture obsessed with race? I was at the Bengals game last week and after the game the escalator was blocked coming from section 219 because a Yinzer was arguing with a Bengals fan. After they broke it up the Bengals fan, who was black, went on down the steps, then the Yinzer started yelling at him calling him a “Chimp” and a stupid “Smoke”. All the while, on the way down the escalator to the great hall there are giant pictures of LC, Joe Green and Swan. It makes no sense. I agree Tomlin sh!t the bed, if he gets let go, he should understand it but don’t make it about the shallow race crap.

I stayed until 0:00 when Franco caught a ball and I have never thought of doing less

Agreed, but easily arguable that Noll was not that far removed from winning 4 SB's in 6 years. Vs. Tomlin whom hasn't won anything in 16. Kind of a major difference.

    He was 12 years removed.
    I wouldn’t say that’s not too far
