    1. 1st half was about as pathetic as I've ever seen on both sides of the ball

    2. Letting Lamar Jackson run free was an epic failure by the coaching staff

    3. I've never seen any Steelers defense collapse against the run like this

    4. Should've been passing the ball much earlier on

    5. It truly looked like we didn't want to be there

    6. There needs to be a lot of soul searching from top to bottom

    7. Not only are we tied for most Lombardi trophies,.... I believe we are closing in on the lead in participation trophies as well

    8. Despite the listless offensive showings, the O-line was fairly solid

    9. George Pickens, Calvin Austin and Michael Williams should be the cornerstone of the passing game next season (along with whoever we draft)

    10. Most of the coaches need to go

    8.

I'm struggling to put words on it. We don't have a franchise quarterback on the roster. I have no idea what happened to our defense. But the game plan tonight on that side of the ball was awful. We had flashes of creativity on offense this year but we never sustained them. I really hate it that the talking heads were right about us. But one thing I have to say...No one. NO ONE. Not Tomlin. Not Rooney. Not a single player is about the "non-losing season." So please, please, please don't act like that is the issue, or an issue, or anything. It's not. Nevertheless...it's time for a change. This is the definition of insanity.

Was disgusting. I turned it off with a few mins left in 2nd quarter. Terrible product delivered to the fans (again).

Boy, I don’t know if I just never paid attention as much in previous years or what, but the league sure put their thumbs on the scales a lot this year. And not in our favor.

The whole thing with Hard knocks really opened my eyes. The league set the rules for the show that as long as you had a winning season you weren’t eligible for the show. But the league has always wanted the Steelers on the show for ratings. Their solution? A NEW hard knocks during the season! And that wasn’t enough so to make it really special let’s go ahead and backload the Steelers schedule with as much difficulty as possible! And that wasn’t enough so let’s make them play three games in 11 days and travel for two of those!

I mean, let’s be clear, this Steelers team is not great, but this league is all about entertainment and ratings. I read somewhere that of the four major sports leagues (MLB, NHL, NBA, NFL), the NFL is the only one registered as an entertainment company and not a sports league. It’s like the WWE.

The only thing I have to say about your assessment for the game is that you might be too kind in your words. This was a playoff game for the team and our emotions.....lol

Couldnt watch the game (in LA) but thanks for the run down BGP. This late season 5 game losing streak collapse just shows that this is mainly a coaching issue. Including HC. Its clear to me Tomlin’s message has gotten more stale as the years go by. Questionable game plans, guys out of position, lot of technical mistakes by the players. Lack of urgency. Just time for a change. But i dont have much hope ownership will make the necessary changes.

So your logic is the league wants the Steelers for ratings, but at the same time they stacked things against the Steelers? If the Steelers are such a ratings draw why would they stack things against them? Wouldn't the league stack things in their favor to keep people watching?

I'm not sure if it would have mattered, but the defensive game plan was a disgrace. They focused everything on stopping Henry and still couldn't stop him, but they did make things way too easy on Jackson. They had opportunities to blow Jackson up, but instead, they had Watt and Highsmith slamming into Henry when he didn't have the ball all night. When they did force a third-down passing situation, they backed off way to often, giving Jackson all the time in the world to throw.

Tomlin and his staff did not have this team ready to play tonight. The Ravens are the better team, but they aren't that much better. That's coaching.

The Steelers will draw viewers win or lose. What I’m saying is they backloaded the schedule for the sole purpose of ensuring drama on the hard knocks show.

Tomlin has a job for life with the Steelers. The only thing that's going to have him change out is if he decides it's time for him to go. My hope is that he does a little soul searching over the next few months and decides that he could use a rest.

Then he will look at the Millions he gets paid and he says I can do this, unless he fears surpassing being linked with Marvin Lewis for the longest playoff losing streak. He's going nowhere bank on it, no pun intended.

    Oh God.

I can see it now. He waits until after the draft and then walks away. Meanwhile, every decent HC prospect has been hired already...

It is a coaching issue, but it is also a talent issue. QB, WR, DL, CB all need upgrades. I still have faith in Khan/Weidl, but ARII needs to get Tomlin out of draft room. He also needs Tomlin to quit overseeing the defense. My initial thought is go ahead and give Wilson a short-term deal as a placeholder until a franchise QB can be drafted. Build the rest of the roster, so it will be ready when that QB arrives.

From the once mighty Steelers that teams feared drawing in a playoff match, to, well this. They’re Soft. Have to hang my head admitting that.

Board, our beloved franchise doesn’t have the fire, the eye of the tiger.
Over paid and comfortable. They need to be coached, not befriended. You can be friendly, but not friends, there’s a line there between player and coach. You’re their coach, not their father, brother, or friend.

    Soft…

I remember when, in our frustration over Cowher falling short in the AFCCG, we likened him to Marty.

We didn't know how good we had it then.

Yep I hated how he played not to lose but only can imagine what he would have done with a quality QB like Ben for the bulk of his coaching career, holy ****, several lombardi's no doubt about it.
