You felt confident about winning a playoff game?

If feels like a long time since I really thought we could win a playoff game.
Hopefully we get on track against the Ravens.

 

Before Blake Bortles proved to be all it took to beat us.

Against Tebow. I still feel like the Steelers got robbed and shouldn't have had to go into OT, but I still felt pretty confident that year and in that game. Since then, not so much.

 

That was the last time I felt going into a playoff game that we would win. I didn't feel confident against the Blake Bortles Jags because they smashed us during the regular season. I wasn't confident against the Browns because we limped into the playoffs that year losing 4 out of last 5 games.

 

I cringe every time I think about that day. Early morning bloody Marie’s on the beach was not a good choice. Drinking heavily during the game was an even worse choice.

It’s been a while since I felt we were better than our playoff opponent.

 

That was the last time I ever placed money on the Steelers and was making SB plans as were all of the players and their families. The following year's SB was equally depressing since "the Steelers never lost a SB game" and I had the utmost confidence they'd somehow win.

 

Read somewhere today that the Steelers are at the bottom of the league in 1st down efficiency at 4.6 yards per play. That’s dead last.

 

Yeah, that year I was walking in Charleston SC to go watch the AFCCG against Indy waving my towel and a guy walked by with his Cowboy jacket on and of course I said Cowboys suck!! Cowboys suck!!!

Guess He got the last word in , without really saying anything to me.

 

Sad but true. Great teams in the mid 90's but such heartbreak. Very dark and depressing outcomes.

 

100% sure we were beating the Broncos and Jaguars but forgot they had superstar franchise QB's.

 

I watched that game with around 20-25 Steeler fans and walking out the door we were all consoling one another saying at least we won't have to lose to the Niners.

 

The Chiefs game with Bell. They had come off an old school Steelers rushing game heading into Arrowhead with a swagger and I just felt they got this.

Of course Bell goes lame in the AFCCG and Brown is knocked out and we watch the Pats cruise into yet another Superbowl but that slow grind at Arrowhead and the Wizard of Boz had me believing that day.

 

many don't like to say it, but Cowher lost a number of BIG GAMES as a HEAVY FAVORITE....2 AFCCG's and ALMOST gave it up to the Colts, in '95.....

 

Yet sometimes the underdog wins. That's our hope

 

Who were the QBs in those AFCCGs?

 

Browns game. That was the last time I felt good about winning. We weren't as good of a team as KC and then were still a bit outmatched (but had some hope) against Buffalo last season. Don't feel real good for Saturday.

I probably won't feel good about a Tomlin team in the playoffs until we win a playoff game again. We could be playing an 0-17 team in the wildcard round and I'd still have that weird feeling of "dang, how is Tomlin going to screw this up?". A big win would go a long way to killing that feeling in the future.

Even with Big Ben's failing arm, I did believe he had enough remaining to beat Cleveland. Oh..... how wrong I was..

 

When I played @Blast Furnace in the TSF fantasy semis a couple of years ago. My team has his number.
