There was a segment on "Get Up" this morning about that there are teams in the NFL seeking a trade for Tomlin. Of course the panel was aghast at the very thought of the Steelers trading away Tomlin. The general consensus was that Tomlin over achieves every year with sub par talent and sneaks the team into the playoffs but they don't have the talent to compete with the higher seeds.

They should call the segment “Wake Up” cause they’re all dreaming.

I just heard on DK Sports that the Steelers were 4th in the NFL in rushing attempts and 26th in rushing yards. This tells me that the o-line wasn't good, the OC was doing what the HC told him to do, their WRs stink, and they didn't trust Russell Wilson.

Smith has always been a run-heavy coach, so I wouldn't absolve him of blame for what we saw against the Bengals. I know you can't pass up an opportunity to take a shot at Tomlin, but my point was that coaching was a factor in the poor offensive performance.

Don't forget the first six games. They trusted Fields less than they trusted Wilson.

I think it was Adam Schefter who started pushing the narrative this year, that teams should call the Steelers and ask about trading for Tomlin. He later reported that Tomlin has a no-trade clause in his contract, so he would have to approve any deal.

I think a lot of requested interviews are just padding numbers. They know who they want. Everyone else is just a negotiating tactic. You don't want the guy you really want to know that he's the only one on the board because he might want more money......lol

The Tomlin coaching tree is more like a fence post......

Which begs the question, how many picks would a team be willing to part with and how much power would such team give Tomlin for the Steelers and Tomlin to listen? I don't see a trade happening but we can see who could be pursuing Tomlin.

Another two teams on a list of dumpster fires I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. It's like planning to be fired in less than a year.

Which is why I think the Bears are going for the home run and will ultimately strike out in their attempt to trade for Tomlin.

Not sure I agree with the sub-par talent over Mike Tomlins career with us.

The problem wasn't so much that the Oline wasn't good it was that the play design and QB play were horrible as well. No threat before Russ got back from injury to throw the ball so you stick 9 in the box. 5 guys with three of them rookies can't block 9 then add in there Washington still very much raw and a work in progress, Pruitt just not worth a darn, Muth not bad but not the second coming of Heath Miller and not true FB. Let's sprinkle in bad pitch plays, poor blocking schemes and guys who are just confused and you'd be hard pressed to see Emmitt Smith making positive yards. Then there is the dive play at the start of every game. I'm not in favor of Fields starting per say but it would at least have been an opportunity for RPO instead of Harris up the gut for no gain or Harris up the gut for 15 negated by holding on the offensive line.

I agree about Smith, and yet I did pass up an attempt to take a shot at Tomlin. If Tomlin told Smith to try to keep Burrow off the field, then that is on Tomlin as well as Smith. Should Smith have called more pass plays on first down? Of course.

Agreed. The offense is completely screwed up, from coaching, to schemes, to personnel.
