Is there no interest in him or will he be a late FA signing ? For these teams going to the 3-4 this year Hamp would be good pick up. He can still play just not like he used to...Who would have thought Mundy would get signed before Hamp....

He's 36 so it's not really that surprising. THere might be some interest later, but more than likely big snack will be taking up crochet in the near future.

I'm thinking he and JH are the type of player that will get a look at after the draft if a team has a glaring hole or during camp if someone gets hurt. No reason to sign them now when you still have the draft to see what pops up. Kind of like us signing Plex last year.

He's old and fat not surprised he can only play 1st and 2nd down.

Still can't figure that one out. I love Snack and he's been an effective NT for a few years now, but the last couple of years it seemed to me that somebody had to make him mad to get a splash play out of him. McClendon, on the other hand, seemed to make something happen with every opportunity he got last year. I look forward to seeing what he's got this year with more of an opportunity. I'd kind of like to see what he could do at DE. He's very athletic and that could be his ideal role if Ta'amu could step into the NT spot. I 'bout guarantee he could outplay Twiggy Hood and Can't Heyward at DE now. He makes plays and, unfortunately, I haven't seen much out of the former number ones!

Again we NEVER EVER EVER play young players on Leabeu's D! It Sucks... We may have that same problem @ Ilb. I would much rather watch a younger more athletic player make a mistake because of inexperience than a veteran player past his usefulness who makes very few mistakes but is very limited athletically...
You could read that last year In Spense's case..You could tell how excited they were talking about how well he picked everything up and how good thing were going and than you hear no rookies start on this D....So, you can bet who we have in place now on D (unless we bring in a FA) will be our starters because we will not start a rookie!

I looked back and the the last rookie to start on a Pittsburgh Steelers D was Kendrell Bell.....
