Opps.... that Austin... (I'm Austin the DC)
Still, yes Austin the WR did make some nice catches.. but on most teams (maybe every team) he's a #3 wide out and a specialist.
He can turn on the burners.... no doubt. And he's not got some creed for catching in a crowd.

To tell the truth, if we had a true #2, Austin would be even more of an impact player.

I’d go after Darnold and pay him 20 a year before giving that to Wilson. He’s going to be 37 years old. It’s not like the guy is playing at an elite level.

Sometimes he doesn’t show up at all

He does seem to be improving

Darnold will get more than 20 million a year, the Vikings might keep him for next year. Mayfield got 33 million a year from the Bucs.

Steelers fans keep talking about getting Higgins in free agency I don't see it happening, those type of receivers in free agency are getting like 28 million a year or more.

Let other GMs overspend for QB’s then and sign Fields while drafting one and hope you hit on that.

Shout it out loud Glenn! And if you haters think you're going to get away with breakin' the law by posting on the wrong board; Glenn is here to tell you you've got another thing coming, because he's hellbent for leather and some heads are gonna roll.

Do you have a 50% off Darnold promo code or something? He'll get twice that much.

they will never get Darnold for that, but I would make some calls to SEVERAL at the same time. Khan will.

Kirk Cousins will likely be available and Atlanta will be footing a lot of the bill. Sounds kind of familiar. Personally I say hell no to him though.

Maybe not but he only has one year of playing at this level. I think 20 million a year is fair market value for him.

My guess is If Minnesota does well in the playoffs, he’s getting 30 million minimum. If they get lucky and go to or win, the Super Bowl expect it to be more.

Wouldnt surprise me, having a great year but you risk him being a one year wonder.

If that happens… Darnold will also be the starter for the Vikes next season, JJ will have to wait.

Some teams might be willing to overpay for him, this is a weak QB draft.

Not even at a reasonable contract?

If anything for a reasonable price, I would try and keep wilson and Fields for 2 yr contract and than try to find your franchise qb in the 26 draft.
With development of OL and hopefully addressing secondary, i think we would have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs, agree?

Of the 3 I think only Fields would be in the 15-20 million range.

But whether it’s Wilson, Fields or Darnold I agree it should be a 2 year contract (probably be an 3 year contract structured so they can get out of the 3rd year) and they try to find a QB in the draft.

The way Darnold is playing he may get 40 and I don’t see Minnesota letting him go

Steelers aren’t getting into a bidding war

Darnold getting 20 million a year?! That would be the steal of the Century for sure. That said, not happening.

Look for Darnold to ask for anywhere between 33-37 Million. He's earned it. Given how his career has been... it is nothing short of a miracle.

My only major pushback is J.J. McCarthy; their 1st Round Pick from this season. Do they keep Darnold and allow J.J. to sit another season?! Darnold isnt that old himself; 27 going on 28 next season. He has plenty left in the tank. J.J. is 21 but I doubt Kevin O Connell drafted him just to sit.

I do agree overall about your point of a bidding war based off of money in FA. However, why would Minnesota stop there?! Make a bidding war based off of draft capital in the Offseason. Find a team who is willing to throw it all away to nab a QB. Trade Darnold for a healthy amount of picks and reap the benefits.
