    My local paper has done it too but the worst of the worst merely create a new fake FB page and carry on with their nonsense.

    Yeah, I'm sure it would cut down on some but seeing as how some of these tweeters talk to athletes and actors and what not, I don't think it bothers them much, unless they all create phony accounts.

    Haha! Love it! I thought Jen had gotten eaten by zombies until I saw some obscure post recently in her signature style, noted the 'crav' in her name, and sent her a PM.

    She is definitely an acquired taste. I appreciate her knowledge of all things (music, history, college sports, etc). You've gotta have a broad, working knowledge of a lot of stuff to keep up with her or else you'll be sitting there with a blank look on your face like a room full of strippers trying to comprehend a Dennis Miller routine.

    Interesting point BobbyBiz made about the ESPN boards creating a certain sort of defensive writing style. You DO get conditioned into coming out swinging since there are so many trolls on the boards. Unfortunately, to borrow the Walking Dead reference, the Steelers board was like some impenetrable fortress that wasn't willing to take on any more outsiders. I tried registering for that thing a dozen times, created screen names, thought everything was good to go, but was never allowed to post.

    And thinking about it, that place really shaped the way I post. In a bad way. Sometimes I tend to get a little brash and maybe come off as a bit of an ass, but it goes back to the ESPN boards. Because of the contant mindless trolling you had to develop a bit of an attitude to deal with it. Some of that has carried over to here, I think.

    Those of us around during the Usenet days were trained similarly. It took me a long time to break that habit. I think I was banned 3 times from the old Steeler board back in the day until I settled down (and started using the name I still use today). I still have brief relapses from time to time. ;)

    I think Sweed will help fill a hole in case Sanders goes to the CFL and eventually he HAS to catch one, even if just by accident. I always knew Sweed would be back in the Black-n-Gold!
