Watching the Tennessee game... Levis < Rudolph... i say IF we deal Fields we bring back Mason to back up Wilson... Levis ain't getting it done in Tennessee, Mason is better,

Based off what? If we pay him 30 million a year in the offseason, then why wouldn’t he take it?

I would bring Wilson back, but not for a 3-5 year contract. 1-2 years at most. I just can’t get on board with a long term contract for a short term answer. In terms of Justin Fields I would be good bringing him back too, but I think he will move on for a better shot at starting.

I can see Fields getting offers from Vikings if they move on from Darnold, in case McCarthy flops. Colts... Richardson has a 50% completion %. Seahawks... Fields could challenge Geno Smith for starting job. Browns... likewise with Jameis Winston.

Mason would be a decent backup, for sure. Said that BEFORE we let him easily out the back door this off-season. that said - he should be in the mix as a back up, for 2025 - in the conversation. and the Wilson negation will be interesting to say the least

If we CRASH and BURN the rest of this year, we can get him dirt cheap and with little string attached. If he flies to the moon and wins a playoff game or 2, well, the price goes up!!

it is elementary, my dear Watson.....

correct - he will want a ROCK SOLID contract. I am not ready to give it to him. I think we sign a top Tier FA OR draft a WR 1 or 2. Then we have Pickens (final year of his contract in '25), a Top Tier and Paid opposite starter, and Roman Wilson, to get started, plus CA3.

He is a pain in the ass - 50/50 that Khan shops him in the spring........

not sure - they KNOW he is not much. Darnold may want to STAY there, and VIKES have to pay someone. Seems like a good fit?

My fear is not in losing either one of them but lies witin giving Wilson a big contract.

Atlantas stupidity has quickly bitten them in the ass.

I hope they let Wislon walk if hes looking to cash in.

I did. If we offered him what he wants, why wouldn't he take it instead of going to FA? What makes you think he would force his way to FA if the money he wants is already on the table with us?

I agree. There is 0 chance I want Russ on a Kirk Cousins contract.... If that is what Russ wants, then so be it. I'd pay him more than I would pay to keep Fields, but there's a limit. We can always let him walk and roll with Justin on a bridge starter deal/draft a QB.

How about welcome Kirk Cousins next year on a league minimum contract with Atlanta paying him all his guaranteed money?

I look for Kirk Cousins to play hardball and use his No Trade clause, and force Atlanta to cut him. Kirk Cousins still has to be a little mad that the Falcons drafted a QB in the 1st round, rather than draft a player that could have helped him this year.

The Steelers don't need an old QB with no mobility like Cousins.

Highly unlikely that the Vikes move on from Darnold with the year he is having… unless they really want McCarthy to start next season

My fear is paying Fields more than he's worth, and then having to win games only one way.....while the Wrs start complaining again. We've seen that enough the last two years. Finally we got a Qb to keep everyone on the offense happy

He’s been pretty awful so maybe they could get him cheap but I’d pass.

Cousins is old and slow and has won 1 playoff game in 13 years. Steelers should not want Cousins. Hard no.

As "bad" as Russell Wilson was last year (204 yds/game, 26 tds, 8 ints, 98.0 rating), he's light years ahead of where Cousins is this year (250 yds/game, 18 tds, 16 ints, 88.6 rating). And Cousins stats are bouyed by having an incredibly weak schedule the first half of the year. You have to look at his last half dozen games to see what you're getting for next year.

His last 6 games have been the worst in the league by a long shot. Cousins is playing at the Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russell level.

??? Ever hear of supply and demand? Here's a list of teams looking for a starting QB next season:

    • New York Jets (if Rodgers is punted)
    • New York Giants
    • Cleveland Browns
    • Pittsburgh Steelers
    • Tennessee Titans
    • Carolina Panthers
    • Las Vegas Raiders
    • San Francisco 49ers
Here's the list of Rd1 QBs available in 2025
    • Shedeur Sanders
When supply is insufficient to meet demand... price goes up.

I'm pretty sure Wilson is going to be our guy in 2025. I agree with you about a short term deal. I also hope we get lucky with a QB in the draft. Not sure what is out there but Brady proved it doesn't have to be a #1. Purdy to a much lesser degree.

Steelers ain't winning a SB anytime soon but if they give Wilson a 3-5 year contract that seals the deal we ain't winning one. Wilson is decent and with two good receivers he'll be better but he is past his prime. I like Fields as a #2 but I think there are a few teams that would scoop him up for a chance at #1.
