    sit them all!

    give Goodell the BIRD.

THIS GAME DOES NOT MATTER. (We do not have a snowballs chance w/o Pickens and TJ - he is not healthy, let him REST!)

Beat KC an CINCY and win the Division.

Tomlin won't do it, but MIKEYG would.

get your TEAM healthy, take this as a BYE week, let Goodell know what you think of his 3 games in 11 days stunt

have at it boys and girls!

PS - you are free to reproduce this in Pittsburgh media, at your own discretion.

Well then why just not forfeit? BTW. I think your idea is stupid. Just beat the Ravens and win the division.

There's not a lot of hope for this game. Unless LJ throws picks like Jameis Winston.... this is a sure fire loss, through and through.

This may be true if Pickens and Watt don't play, but if they are able to go your take makes little sense. They beat the Ravens and they have a history of playing well against Jackson.

Watt, even if he plays will likely not be 100% and Pickens has an injury that is just as bad as a high ankle sprain. Even if he plays... he won't be 100%. Might as well sit them and save them for KC or Cincinnati. Bengals/Burrow will do everything they can to poop on Steelers division title hopes.

I think it depends on Pickens, Watt, and Elliott. If they are healthy and able to go, then you play to win and wrap up the division now. Then you treat the KC game as a bye. Sit Wilson, Pickens, Watt, and any player with even the mildest injury. Hell, sit Heyward, too, just because a guy his age can use a break. Then use the finale against the Bengals as a tune-up, playing the starters for only a quarter or a half.

If Pickens, Watt, and Elliott can't go, then yes, your plan makes sense. You are right in that Tomlin won't do it. He will play everyone who is healthy enough to go and play to win, which I can respect even if I would be tempted to play it your way.

Sure they will, but it won't matter if the Steelers find a way to win Saturday.

How often do I read on here about how badly we’re going to lose to the Ravens, and then we win. Chicken Little, not Raven, is the most relevant poultry on this board pre-Ravens game.

No, it absolutely does not make sense in a game where we can lock up the division. I can’t believe I just read this coming from you.

Nope. Just a regular “throw the game because we can’t win it” thread. You know, the usual.

For the record, I picked Steelers to beat the Ravens on November 17th.... and I was right. And I'll be right this time.... with Ravens over Steelers.

    :drinks:

they are not healthy, in the sense of close to max strength. we risk more injury, is my thought.

they would be 'healthier' with another 5 days rest.

    the usual?

    there is no usual.

I have been pretty excited about the team this year.

it is starting to weaken, at the knees....

the Tomlin usual, if you will......

I had a similar suggestion earlier, but for the KC game not this one. That was also before it was likely that Mahomes is out, and I was mostly being sarcastic. If we did win the Ravens game though, there's an actual legitimate argument for sitting guys after that. I'd have to look at seeding implications, but I don't think it really matters if we're a slightly lower seed as long as we get a home game. The newer playoff format with more teams has me unclear on this, but are all the division winners guaranteed at least one home game?

We're not there yet though. Beat the damn Ravens somehow and then this discussion can begin.

Notice I also wrote that Tomlin won't do it. I wrote that I would be tempted if Pickens, Watt, and Elliott are all out, but I doubt I'd be able to bring myself to do it. Tomlin will play to win the game, as he should, no matter who is out. I was just writing that I understand the logic. I may be allowing my frustration with the schedule to interfere with my logic. The league royally screwed the Steelers, again, and it happens as they are dealing with another spate of injuries to players the team can't afford to lose.

Any given Sunday. This team is too good against Jackson to just roll over. Im really not all that impressed with the Ravens.

Who do they have outside of Henry? Neutralize him and they have a shot.

Win this game and then worry about resting guys.
